Johannes Brahms Cello Sonata No.1 in e minor, Op.38에 대한 연구

Abstract

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) was the composer who tried to express the romantic sentiments based upon the form of Classicism. In the nineteenth century, the Romantic music was classified into the Absolute music and the Program music. He preferred the symphonies and chamber music in the form of traditional Classicism rather than the prevailing Program music such as the symphonic poem. J.Brahms composed this sonata in his golden age of the second period. Although this piece is a typical romantic period work, it also emphasized classical form of 3 movements Formation of the melody is a sonata form in the first movement and displays progressed changes in a formal and creative type while maintaining the Sonata form itself of the classical age. In the second movement posseses a Compound Ternary Form as a Menuetto having Trio and give consolidating nature of melody utilizing Da Capo. In the third movement which is the compound ternary Fugue form developed into various forms.;신고전주의 작곡가로 대표되는 Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)는 고전주의 형식 위에 낭만주의적 이념을 결합해서 표현하려 했던 작곡가이다. 그는 동시대에 주류를 이루었던 극음악이나 교향시 등의 표제예술에 대항하여 전통적 고전주의 형식의 교향곡과 실내악을 선호하였다. Cello sonata No.1 Op.38은 전성기인 제2기에 쓰여진 작품으로 전형적인 낭만주의 음악이면서도 고전적 형식을 중요시한 작품이다. 이 곡은 3개의 악장으로 이루어져 있는데, 제1악장은 고전시대의 Sonata양식을 그대로 유지하면서 형식적; 조성적으로 발전된 변화를 보여준다. 제2악장은 Trio를 갖는 Menuetto로서 복합 3부분형식으로 되어 있으며 Da Capo의 사용으로 곡의 흐름에 통일성을 준다. 제3악장은 Fugue의 기법을 이용한 3부분 형식으로 Fugue에 사용되는 주제에 전위형태 등으로 변화함으로서 독창성있는 형식으로 구성된다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 J.Brahms의 음악적 토대를 짐작할 수 있는 생애를 살펴본 후, Cello Sonata No.1 Op.38의 구조적, 화성적, 선율적 요소를 중심으로 분석하여 작곡가의 작곡의도에 벗어나지 않는 연주가의 작품해석을 돕고자 한다.
