Abstract

Fryderic Franciszek Chopin (1810 - 1849) was a composer of Poland and he was not only active in early 19th century but also was a representative composer in piano music of Romanticism. He spent more than half of his life abroad and lingered his motherland Poland. One of his brilliant work, Polonaise Fantasy Op. 61 was composed in 1846. In this piece, he represented in rhythm of Poland folk dance music as well as ethic expression which can be characterized as an inspiration. Polonaise keeps origin at ethnic customs dance tune of Poland and demonstrates triple time, developing in form of instrumental piece that is conventionalized since 18th century. Polonaise that deep and character of a nation of poland are filled with triple time that seem to demonstrate that is huge. Also among 1 measure, second time was emphasized, unoccasionally syncopated, and accented latter part of first time. This music can be characterized as a peculiar composition combined with polonaise and fantasy without being bound in strict form. It was completed as work of art by Chopin. This paper deals with Polonaise Fantaisie Op. 61 in terms of history, development and analysis. The obtained results are as follows : This music is consisted of three parts of long introduction and five center themes. Various rhythms along with dotted notes, triplets, syncopation and cross rhythms were used with core rhythms of polonaise. Chromatic scale progression, free modulation, enharmonic modulation, altered chords and nonharmonic tones are used in harmony. The frequent change of tonality showed characteristic of Chopin's music. Many composers have spoken that it was hard to understand Chopin's work because of irregular harmony. Nonetheless, his work will be played steadily and may do forward in today. He contributed to combine orchestral imagination through a piano and united absoluteness of a piano and musical thinking. He was a representative musician who expressed nationalism through polonaise in Romanticism.;낭만주의(Romanticism)시대 대표적인 작곡가인 쇼팽(Fryderyk Francisz Chopin 1810-1849)은 폴란드 출신 작곡가이자 피아니스트이며 일생에 걸쳐 작곡한 곡이 몇 곡을 제외하고 모두 피아노 곡으로, 낭만주의시대 피아노 음악사에 있어 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 그의 피아노 음악의 총체는 당시로서는 모험적인 화성감각과 직관적이고 창조적인 형식구성과 화려한 피아노 테크닉이 결합된 것이었다. 그 혈통에서도 알 수 있듯이, 그의 음악에 있어서는 폴란드의 민속적인 요소와 프랑스의 세련된 감각이 바탕이 되어있고 특히 작품 곳곳에서 나타나는 명확히 규정된 형식의 윤곽 안에서의 즉흥 연주 적인 요소들은 쇼팽 작품의 대표적인 특성들이라고 말할 수 있다. 쇼팽에게 있어서 Polonaise는 Mazurka와 함께 자신의 민족 정신을 온전히 표현할 수 있는 장르였는데 그가 추구했던 것은 민족 정신을 진정하게 표출하는 예술 음악으로서의 Polonaise였다. 그는 모두 18곡의 Polonaise를 작곡하였으며, 본 논문에서는 그 중 마지막 작품인 Polonaise Fantaisie Op.61을 연구 분석하였다. 이 곡은 쇼팽의 창작이 최후의 원숙기로 접어들었던 1846년 Polonaise 작품 중 마지막으로 출판된 작품이다. 특히 이 곡은 Polonaise와 Fantaisie형식의 성격이 한 곡 안에서 결합된 독특한 형태의 구성으로, Polonaise라는 무곡 형식과 Fantalsie라는 표제적인 성격이 결합된 작품이다. 특히 이 곡에서는 Polonaise 고유의 리듬을 가지고 있으면서도 그 리듬이 여러가지 형태로 변화되었으며 자유로우면서도 대담한 전조와 불협화음, 변성화음, 분산화음, 중6도화음과 여러 가지 서정적이면서 곡 전체를 이끌어 나가는 5개의 주제 선율은 이 곡의 특징들 중 하나이다. 또한 삼연음부, 교차 리듬, 붓점 등의 리듬도 두드러지게 나타난다. 쇼팽은 자신만의 독특한 음악어법으로 마음 속의 격정을 음악에 담아 내었으며 특히 Polonaise라는 장르를 통하여 자신의 조국 폴란드의 과거의 영광과 현재의 비애와 분노를 표현한 조국 폴란드를 진정으로 사랑한 음악가였다. 본 논문에서는 쇼팽의 생애와 Polonaise의 역사에 관하여 살펴보고, Polonaise Fantaisie Op. 61를 분석함으로써 그의 작품의 특징과 주요한 작곡기법을 알아보고자 한다.
