경기도 안산 잿머리 마을신화 연구

Abstract

본고는 경기도 안산시 성곡동의 마을신화와 제의를 대상으로 하여, 이의 전승이 활발했을 당시의 양상을 재구하고, 잿머리 마을신화가 가지고 있는 신화적 성격을 살펴보았다. 이에 대한 논의과정은 다음과 같다. Ⅱ장에서는 현장조사된 잿머리 마을신화와 마을제의가 전승되는 양상을 살폈다. 잿머리 마을신화의 서사를 분석하여 그 구성요소를 추출하고 이를 통해 잿머리 마을신화에 여성원혼과 역사인물이 신격으로 등장하여 복합적인 양상을 나타내고 있음을 보았다. 또한 영험담을 통해 잿머리의 신격이 좌정 후에도 영험함을 보임으로써 잿머리 주민에게 그 신성성을 계속 인정받고 있음을 고찰하였다. 신격의 신성성은 현실 속에 구체적 양상으로 나타나는 마을제의를 통해 더욱 확고해지는데, 잿머리 마을제의 역시 신격과 인간과의 직접적인 만남의 계기를 통해 그 전승력을 확보하는 것으로 여겨진다. 특히 잿머리 마을제의의 독특한 면모를 보이고 있는 遊家과정을 재구하고, 잿머리 주민과의 관계양상을 살펴 보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 잿머리 마을신화의 구조와 구성원리를 통해 그 신화적 성격을 살펴보고자 하였다. 잿머리 마을신화는 '신성혼' 구조의 흔적을 보이고 있으며, 모녀신이 신격화하는 과정은 '입사식'의 구조를 취하고 있다. 그러나 생활의 안정을 위해 마을신격을 숭앙하는 전승민들은 이러한 신화구조 안에서 서사를 확대하기 보다는 기본적인 구조만 남겨둔 채, 제의에 더욱 집중하는 양상을 보인다. 또 잿머리 마을신화는 민간신앙적인 원리와 잿머리 마을史가 구성원리로 기능하고 있다. Ⅳ장에서는 Ⅱ, Ⅲ장의 분석을 토대로 하여 잿머리 모녀신과 유사한 성격이 드러나는 여성원혼계 마을신화와 잿머리 마을신화를 대비하였다. 또한 잿머리 마을신화의 형성시기와 전승지역권을 살펴보았다. 잿머리 마을신화는 여성원혼계 마을신화들과 유사한 성격을 드러내면서도 일반신화의 구조를 적극적으로 반영하고 있어 변별성을 가진다. 이는 새로 입주해온 마을민에 의해 토착신격과 새로운 역사신격이 결합된 결과이다. 현재 형태의 마을신화가 형성된 시기도 이들 집단이 잿머리에서 지배적 성씨로 자리잡았을 무렵으로 추정된다. 현재 전승되고 있는 잿머리 마을신화는 잿머리 마을주민들이 자신들이 가지고 있는 믿음을 근거로 하여 마을신화의 구성에 적극적으로 개입하고 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 그리고 이러한 과정은 마을민의 전통창출 행위의 하나이다. 잿머리 마을신화는 구조적으로 신화적 성격을 여실히 드러내고 있으며, 마을주민과 밀착하여 형성, 전승된다는 점에서 그 마을신화사적 의의를 지닌다.;The purposes of this study are to restructure the myth and the rite of the Jetmury village(잿머리 마을) according to its prosperous time, and to examine the mythological aspect of this village myth. The processes of discussion are as follows. Chapter Ⅱ, by the field study, illuminates the pattern of transmission of the myth and ritual ceremony of the Jetmury village. Through the examination of the Jetmury village myth, I extracted the components of the myth. As a result, I found women grudging gods and historical figures were integrated in the myth. Also, I observed the myth kept among villagers through their spiritual experiences. The holiness of the god has been reinforced by the villagers' ritual ceremony and by the contact between villagers and gods. Especially, I examined the myth by reconstructing its peculiar style of visiting neighbor houses process(遊家過程) and the relationship of villagers. Chapter Ⅲ, by analogizing the structure of Jetmury village's myth, I examined its mythological character. It has a trace of sacred marriage and presents process of the consecration of Mother and Daughter sprits. The structural pattern of this myth wasn't extended its meaning and content, but remained its essential pattern and focused more its ritual ceremony. Because Jetmury villagers lean on the god‘s occult power. For the more, Jetmury village myth has two principles of organization, one is as a folk belief and the other as a village history. Chapter Ⅳ, based on the study of chap. Ⅱ, Ⅲ, firstly I examined the similar myths which present the grudging women god‘s tales to compare with the Jetmury village myth. Secondly I explored the formative period of the myth, and transmission area. The Jetmury village myth is distinguished from similar myths by adopting general structure of mythology. This is the result of fusion of native gods and others which were worshiped by emigrant people. The present formation of this myth is supposed to take place when the group seized the power as a main clan. The remaining Jetmury village myth is strong evidence that village residents actively participated in the making of the myth based on their belief. And this process is the act of creation of village tradition. The Jetmury village myth represents the structural character of mythology and has the significance that it has succeeded to village people with the close relationship.
