C. A. Debussy의 [Images II]에 관한 연구

Abstract

C. A. Debussy(1862-1918)는 19세기 후반부터 20세기 초반의 프랑스 인상주의 작곡가로 당시 음악계를 지배하던 독일 낭만주의 운동과는 다른 새로운 음악을 창조하였다. 이 새로운 음악이란 회화의 인상주의와 문학의 상징주의에서 영향을 받은 것으로 음악적 색채를 창조함으로 이루어졌다. Debussy는 이 음악적 색채의 창조를 위해 기존의 화성과는 다른 병행화음, 불협화음, 부가화음을 사용함으로 화성의 변화를 시도하였다. 그 외에도 조성, 리듬, 선율에서도 Debussy만의 독특한 양식을 확립함으로 동시대와 후대의 작곡가들에게 많은 영향을 미치게 된다. Debussy의 색채감은 특히 피아노 작품에서 잘 표현되었는데 1907년에 작곡된 [ImagesⅡ]는 이것을 대표하는 작품이다. 이 곡은 총 3곡으로 되어 있으며 순간의 인상포착이 잘 드러난 회화적인 곡이다. 제1곡 Cloches a'travers les feuilles는 온음음계를 사용하여 중소리의 울림을 표현하였고, 제2곡 Et la lune descend sur le temple qui fut는 병진행화음가 5음계의 사용으로 동양적 느낌을 잘 표현하였다. 제3곡 Poisson d'or은 가장 생동감 있고 인상주의적 느낌이 강한 곡으로 화성적으로나 선율적으로 많은 다채로운 변화를 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 Debussy의 피아노 음악의 특징을 간단히 살펴보고 [ImagesⅡ]를 분석해 보고자 한다.;C. A. Debussy was the composer of 20C impressionism in the late 19C to early 20C. He created the new style music which was different with German Romanticism of maincurrent the new style music was influenced from the impressionism of painting and symbolism of literature and completed by creation of the musical color. Debussy tried the harmonica1 variation by parallel chord, dissonance and added note chord which were different from existing harmony to creat this new musical color. In addition he effected on a lot of composers of later generation as well as contemporary by making his unique style on tonality, rhythm and melody. Especially, Debussy's unique color is well shown in a work of piano. ImagesⅡ, composed on 1907, is consisted of three pieces, it is the music which this drawing feature is well revealed. The first piece (Cloches a^(｀) travers les feuilles) expresses the echo of bell by whole-tone scale. And the second piece (Et la lune descend sur le temple qui fut) expresses the oriental feeling by pentatonic scale. The third piece (Poissons d'or) shows the variation in term of harmony and melody as the most impressionistic in ImagesⅡ. This study is to consider the composition technique of Debussy, the feature of piano music and the analysis of ImagesⅡ.
