A study on A₁-weights for some maximal functions

Abstract

R.R. Coifman and R. Rochberg 〔1〕 gave the following description of the A_(1)-weights for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function. If f is a locally integrable function and M is the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function then (Mf)^(δ) represents an A_(1)-weight of M for every 0<δ<1 ; that is, M(Mf)^(δ)(χ)≤C_(δ)(Mf(χ))^(δ) almost everywhere. But F.Soria〔6〕 showed that the above result is not true for the strong maximal function Ms. In this paper we show that it does not hold for M_(2)ㆍM_(1).;Coifman과 Rochberg는 [1]에서 Hardy- Littlewood maximal fun-tion에 대한 A_(1)- weight의 다음과 같은 성질을 주었다. 만약 f가 국소적분가능한 함수이고, M이 Hardy- Littlewood maximal fun-ction이라면 (Mf)^(δ)는 0 < δ < 1인 모든 δ에 대해서 M의 A_(1) -weight 임 을 나타낸다. 그러나, Soria는 [6]에서 M대신 Ms로 대치시킨다면 위의 성질이 일반적으로 성립되지 않음을 보였다. 이 논문에서는 M대신 M_(2)oM_(l)으로 대치시키더라도 위의 성질이 일반적으로 성립되지 않음을 한 반례를 들어 보인다.
