16,17세기 유럽대륙에서 발생한 마녀박해사 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서는 중세와 근세 초 유럽 대륙을 중심으로 발생했던 마녀 박해사를 " 이단 박해사 "의 역사적 맥락에서 이해하고자 하였다. 그것은 부(富)와 권력(權力)을 추구했던 중세 시대의 교회가 그 교권을 유지하기 위하여 교회 갱신 운동을 "이단 ( Heresy ) " 으로 몰아 박해하였던 역사이다. 이와 같은 맥락에서 중세와 근세 初 발생하였던 마녀사냥 역시 부패한 교회를 떠나 영적으로 탁월했을 뿐 아니라 약초에 관한 지식, 풍부한 삶의 지혜로 말미암아 일반 대중들의 종교적 지도자로서 활약하였던 여성들에 대한 탄압, 근절 운동이라고 판단한다. 이러한 탄압 운동 과정을 자세히 살펴 보기 위하여 Ⅲ장에서는 16, 17세기 프랑스와 독일을 중심으로 발생했던 마녀사냥에 대한 역사적 고찰을 시도하며, 심문과정에 사용되었던 고문방법, 법제도의 변화 과정을 추적함으로써 어떻게 대량적인 살육이 합법적으로 이루어지게 되었는가에 대한 다각적인 연구를 시도한다. Ⅳ장에서는 마녀박해의 원인을 역사적, 사회학적, 인류학적 연구를 통해 제시한 기존의 이론에 대해서 살펴 보고, 마지막으로 중세의 여성 혐오 전통과 마녀박해를 영적, 지적으로 탁월했던 일반 대중의 종교적 지도자, 여성 치유자들에 대한 탄압으로 규정하는 여성 해방 주의자들의 입장을 고찰한다. 결론에서는 이러한 마녀 박해사에 대한 고찰을 통해 여성들의 영적, 지적인 힘을 회상함으로써 여성 해방 운동에 참여하려는 교회 여성들의 작업에 여성적인 임의 근원과 실체를 인식시키는 계기를 마련하고자 한다.;This thesis tries to regard witch - hunting of the sixteenth arid seventeenth centuries in Europe as prosecution of heresy in historical context . It is the history of the medieval church which pursued the wealth arid the power persecute against the innovative group. Most of the groups had been brought under this control by the device of an definition of heresy. Under this context, the European witch - hunting that happened in medieval and early modern periods is also an eradicating movement to women who left the corrupt church. Those women acted as re1igious leaders of populars because they were spiritually prominent and had knowledge of herbs and abundant experience of life. In order to investigate this suppression movement course, chapter Ⅲ tries to examine historically the witch - hunting that mainly occured around area of France and Germany in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. At the same time, it pursues torture method and legal system of that time. Therefore this study tries to do diversified investigation about how the massacre happen legitimately. Chapter Ⅳ , it studies the cause of witch - hunting through the historical, sociological and anthropological theories. Finally it studies about the Feminist's point of view. They regard the medieval misogynic tradition and witch - hunting as oppression about the women healers and popular religious leaders who are spiritually and intellectually prominent. At the conclusion of this thesis, the author tries to retrospect about those women's spiritual and intellectual power. The memory of witch aims at providing a momentum for giving the power to church women who wish to participate in the Feminist movement. Becase the study of witch - hunting history has a great possibility of awakening about the source and substance of the female power.
