J. Brahms의 Piano Sonata Op. 2에 관한 연구

Abstract

Johanes Brahms(1833~1897) was one of the romanticist composter who produced a number of piano music and these works well reflect his musical characteristics. This study attempts to synthesize his musical characteristics in his piano music and to investigate how these characteristics are represented through his piano sonata Op. 2 Brahms' piano music can be characterized by the use of syncopation, accent, polyrhythm; the adoption of gypsy music; the disposition of main melody in inner part; the application of cromatic melody and diminished seventh chord; and the exercise of discord by syncopation, and pedal point His sonata Op. 2 is comprised of 4 movements: the first and the fourth movements are in sonata form, the second in variation and the third in scherzo having trio. The structure of the sonata faithfully follows the tradition of the classicism. However, this work also includes the idioms of the romanticism which include motto theme, augmened fourth interval, polyphony, polyrhythm, melody duplication through the 3rd and 6th octave, pedal point, and variation. Therefore his sonata Op. 2 can be understood as a work classical in structure, romantic in expression.;Johannes Brahms(1833~1997)는 낭만주의시대에 활약한 작곡가로 Piano음악을 다수 남겼는데, 이 곡들에는 그의 음악적 특징이 잘 나타나 있다. 본 연구는 그의 Piano곡을 대상으로 그의 음악적 특징을 종합하고, 그러한 특징이 Piano Sonata Op.2를 통해 어떻게 나타나는지를 고찰한 것이다. Brahms의 Piano 작품의 특징은 syncopation, accent, polyrhythm 등의 사용과 짚시음악의 채용, 내성에서의 주요선율 배치, 반음계 선율, 그리고 감7화음의 사용과 pedal point의 적용을 들 수 있다. Brahms의 Piano Sonata Op.2는 모두 4악장으로 구성되어 있는 곡으로, 제1악장, 제4악장은 Sonata형식, 제2악장은 변주곡형식, 제3악장은 Trio를 갖는 Scherzo이며 제4악장은 느린 서주가 특징적으로서 형식은 전형적인 고전주의 Sonata형식을 충실히 따랐다. 특히 Brahms는 주제 반복적인 음형(motto theme)을 통해 곡을 유기적으로 연결시켰다. Brahms piano 음악에 나타난 음악적 요소들; 선율, 화성, 리듬과 박자, texture 또한 전통적인 것을 따르나, 주제 반복적인 음형들의 사용, 증4도음정, 반음계 선율, polyphony, polyrhythm, syncopation, 3도, 6도, octave의 doubling을 통한 음열의 확장과 선율중복 풍부한 음향효과, cadenz풍의 장식적인 선율과 변박 등 낭만주의 어법이 나타나고 있다. 즉, 고전의 형식속에 낭만의 어법으로 곡을 구성한 특징이 본 연구곡 Piano Sonata Op. 2에 잘 나타나 있는 것이다.
