고등학교 '생활 경제' 과목의 효율적인 운영 방안 탐색에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 제 5차 교육과정에서 부터 교양 선택 과목으로 실시되고 있는「생활 경제」과목의 운영 실태에 관한 조사를 통해「생활 경제」의 목표, 내용 및 운영에 관한 문제점을 파악하여, 이를 토대로 고등학교「생활 경제」과목의 효율적인 운영 방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구를 위한 이론적 배경으로 학교 경제 교육의 목표를 살펴보고「생활 경제」과목의 설정 취지와 교과서의 내용을 검토해 보았으며「정치·경제」에서의 경제 내용과 「생활 경제」와의 내용을 비교해보았다. 또한 교육과정 개발의 절차에 관하여 고찰한 뒤「생활 경제」과목의 교육체제 모형을 제시하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 서울에서 1990년 1년동안「생활 경제」를 배우거나 가르친 고등학생과 교사를 대상으로 설문 조사를 하였고, 설문지의 구성은 「생활 경제」의 목표, 내용, 수업 방법, 평가, 기타 등의 5개 영역으로 나누어 학생 18개 문항, 교사 17개 문항으로 하였으며, 결과는 SPSS프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현행 교과서는 학생과 교사가 요구하는 바를 전부 충족시켜 주지는 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째,「생활 경제」의 내용에 있어서 실생활 중심의 사례가 부족하고 다루고 있는 내용이 많아 학생들이 흥미를 느끼지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 수업 방법과 관련하여 생활과 직결된 보충학습 자료의 개발, 보급과 활용이 절실한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째,「생활 경제」과목은 평가를 하지 않으므로 학생과 교사 모두 관심이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 상당수의 학생과 교사가 교양 선택 과목의 시간을 다른 교과나 자습 시간으로 활용해도 좋다는 반응을 나타내고 있다. 그리고「생활 경제」에 대한 학생들의 선호도는 매우 낮은 것으로 나타나「생활 경제」과목의 운영상의 문제점을 단적으로 표현해 주고 있었다. 이러한 분석 결과에 의하여 본 연구에서는「생활 경제」과목의 효율적인 운영 방안을 위하여 다음과 같은 점들을 제시하였다. 첫째,「생활 경제」과목의 성격에 맞게 분명하고도 적절한 목표의 설정이 필요하다. 둘째, 현재의 입시 위주 교육에서 평가를 하지 않는 것은 학생들의 학습 의욕을 저하시키는 원인이 되고 있으므로 대학 입시에는 포함하지 않더라도 학교 수준에서 평가도 하고 점수도 기록하여 내신 성적에 반영하도록 하는 방안이 현실적으로 필요하다. 셋째,「생활 경제」과목의 목표와 내용 구성, 지도 방법 및 평가에 관한 일반적인 지침이 주어진 교육과정상의 각론 개발이 필요하다.;The purpose of this study is to suggest the effective methods to improve of the high school "Life Economy" by investigating the actual conditions of management and analyzing the contents organization of "Life Economy" which has been adopted for one of the free optional subjects in the fifth High School Curriculum. For the theoretical background of this study I followed the next steps. First, I investigated the goal and objectives of the school economic education and then analyzed the contents of the six kinds of textbooks. Second, I compared the "Politics and Economy"'s contents with "Life Economy"'s. Third, I suggested a model of educational system for the "Life Economy" as a result of the studying the proceess of the curriculum develpoment. I used questionaire as a major method to get information from selected teachers and students who have teached and learned "Life Economy" for a year in 1990 in Seoul. I made questionaire to be composed of 5 domains, namely the goal, contents, teaching method, valuation of "Life Economy" and others the statistical method applied in data analisys was kisquare(X^(2)) test using statistical package for the social science(SPSS). The result is as follows, First, the textbooks now in use do not satisfy all the teachers and students. Economy" because of its shoratge of examples based on real life and its including too many concepts. Third, in terms of teaching method, development, supply and application of supplementary teaching and learning materials connected directly with real life are urgent. Fourth, teacher and students are not very concerned in "Life Economy" since it is not evaluated in the school. Lastly, the degree of the preference of students for "Life Economy" is remarkably low, and it directly shows the problems on management of "Life Economy". Based on the result of this study, for the effective methods to improve the high school "Life Economy", I suggested the follows. First, setting an aim which is proper to "Life Economy" is essentials. Second, "Life Economy" is to be evaluated and reflected in high school records although it is not includedamong the subjects in university and college entrance examination. Third, the development of particulars on curriculum which have a general guide for the goal, contents, teaching methods and evaluation of "Life Economy" is necessary.
