여성대상 프로그램에 나타난 주부의 역할에 대한 분석

Abstract

Recently the description of new women's image has been rapidly diffused in Korean society. The new Image of women as Homemakers is considered as Progressive and advanced one becouse it pertains positive perspectives on their status. Target audience of Wmens Television Program(WTP) is Homemakers and it is the main feature of WTP. This thesis aimed at exploring the influence of WTP and how to WTP getting abroad patriachal ideologies. On the basis of the above analysis, it is to example whether image in homemaker's role in Korean womens television program could have the possibillity of eliminating the patriachal social order. Fallowing problems are to be discussed in this thesis. Firstly, What is the image of Homemaker in WTP. Secondly, What kind of Difference are find between homemaker's Image and Reality. is there any Connection with difference? Thirdly, What is the Meaning of difference in patriarchal society? Are these difference able to transform the patriarchy? Womens television program brocasted by KBS1 and KBS2 from Dec. 1, 1994 to Jan 31,1995 are selected for this research. The research methord is discourse analysis to gether sith the theorical study on Homemakers and Ideological property of mass comunication. It is an analysis of the vocal and literal image on WTP. The phrases expressed in WTP are regared as signs and each sign produce the meaning by interaction with social structure. Therefore it is attempted to explore the procwess of discoure construction and its affect on gender relation by analysis. Strength of WTP is possibility of finding new mean of Homemakers against prejudice. So analysis of the action om wtp is very important. Homemaker's role on WTP is classified in economy, help husband, caring, housework and self developing. And the homemaker's role on wtp give weight only Family role and emphasize fairness and property of gender division of labour. The image of homemaker in wtp is women who are successful in their occupation and have unique self-consiousness. They are depicted as more intellectual than ordnary housewifes. The wtp seems to emphasize the importance of the women's subjectivity, but actually it depicts the women as split subject. they are seperated by age, class, ocupation, and their beauty. these make women subject disintergrated. The mass media emphasize their difference and enfeeble their common expierence as homemaker. on the contrary patriarchy absorbe women's resistant needs and transfer them into image makeing of the specialist as houseworker. they reinforce the domination on women through women's self-surveillance.;전문 프로그램으로서의 성격에도 불구하고 여성대상 프로그램에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지고 있지 않다. 본 논문은 여성 특히 주부라고 하는 특화된 집단을 주시청자층으로 하는 "여성대상 프로그램"에서 나타나는 주부의 역할을 분석하여, 이 프로그램속에 나타나고 있는 가부장적 이데올로기의 모습을 살핌으로써 TV프로그램이 가부장적 이데올로기의 유포와 지지에 어떻게 기여하고 있는가를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여성대상 프로그램에서 주부의 역할은 어떻게 규정되고 있는가 둘째, 주부의 역할이미지는 현실을 어떻게 관련을 맺고 있는가 셋째, 여성대상 프로그램에서 나타난 주부의 역할이 갖는 사회적 함의는 무언인가 이 연구들 위한 연구대상으로 1994년 12월 1일부터 1995년 1월 31일까지 방송된 여성대상 프로그램 중에서 KBS1 TV와 KBS2에서 방송된 4게의 프로그램을 선정하였고, 특히 내용분석을 위해서 KBS1 TV의 아침 마당을 집중적으로 분석하였다. 연구방법은 방송의 이데올로기적 성격과 여성과 매스미디어에 대한 이론적연구를 토대로 하여 텍스트분석을 시도하였다. 여성대상 프로그램의 내용을 분석하여 여성의 역할에대한 TV적 이해와 사회현실간의 괴리가 어떻게 나타나게 되는가를 살피고 있다. 여성대상 프로그램의 강점은 주시청자층으로서의 주부에 대한 인식과 주부업에 대한 새로운 가치평가를 가능하게 한다는 데 있다. 따라서 여성대상 프로그램이 주부를 위해 기능하고 있는가 아니면 가부장적 사회 질서에 순기능적인가를 살펴보는 일은 매우 중요하다. 연구결과 다음과 같다. 여성대상 프로그램에서 갖는 주부의 역할이미지는 주부의 강한 생활력과 자녀교육의 전담자, 남편의 내조자, 가사전문가, 외모에 치중하는 자기계발에 치중하여 주부의 가족내 역할과 관련된 주제를 집중적으로 다루고 있었다. 여성대상 프로그램은 주부의 역할이미지중 가족내 역할의 묘사에 치중하여 주부의 사회적 역활에 대해서는 상대적으로 소홀함을 알 수 있었으며, 가족내 역할 역시 주부자신의 가치실현보다는 주부업의 당위성에 촛점을 두고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 여성대상 프로그램은 취업여성의 증가와 사회적 역할의 강화라고 하는 현실과는 별도로 주부전문화와 현모양처에 대한 강조를 통해서 다양한 주부의 현실을 고루 반영하지 못하게하고 가족내 역할만을 부각시켜 주부의 분열을 갖게하였으며, 이 결과 주부에 대한 현모양처 이데올로기의 강화를 통한 성별분업하고 재생산과 사회적 존재조건으로서의 주부를 소외시키고 가족이기주의를 재생산 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.
