Abstract

In this thesis, Violin Sonata Op.30 No.3 of Beethoven and Violin Sonata in A Major of Franck were stuied. The result examined through analysis are as follows : L.V.Bethoven represents the transition from late classical to romantic music. He composed many symphonic works, sonatas, concertos through his life. Violin Sonata Op.30 No.3 of L.V.Beethoven is composed of three movements. In terns of a structure, the first movements follows a sonata form, the second is ternary form and the third is a rondo form of A-B-A-C-A structure. General characteristic of this work is frequent use of counterpoint and imitation of violin and piano,, etc. Cesar Franck is romantist who lived in the latter half of the 19th century. His fundamental ideas on music are established in the classical style but full of modernism in free use of harmony and structure. Violin Sonata in A Major writen by Franck is made up of four movement. General characteristic of this work is wide use of diminished chord, chromatic progression,, frequent modulatioin and chord of 7th, 9th. Especially the most important element among the forms of proceeding his musical piece is cyclic form,, This sonata is one of the most renowned post-romantical sonata which fuse the romasntic music elements;본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회에서 연주되었던 작품중 Ludwig van Beethoven의 Violin Sonata Op.30 No.3과 Cesar. Franck의 Violin Sonata In A Major를 연구한 것으로 작곡자와 작품 배경 및 곡분석을 통해 실제 연주에 도움을 받고자 한다. 고전주의의 대표적인 작곡가인 L.V.Beethoven은 그의 생애를 통해 모두 10개의 Violin Sonata를 남겼는데 그중 Op.30 No.3은 3악장 구성으로 1 악장 Sonata형식, 2 악장 3부 형식, 3 악장 Rondo 형식으로 되어있으며, 대위법적 구성이 자주 쓰였고 Violin 과 Piano가 대둥하게 취급되었다. 또한 이곡은 이전에 쓰여진 7개의 다른 Violin Sonata에 비하여 Violin의 선율이 더욱 화려해 지고 Piano의 음역이 확대되는 특징을 보이고 있다. Franck는 후기 낭만파에 속하는 France의 대표적인 작곡가로 그 시대의 특징인 반음계의 사용, 잦은 전조, 순환기법 등을 사용했는데, 그의 유일한 Sonata인 Violin Sonata에도 이런 특징들이 잘 나타나 있다. 이곡은 전제 4악장으로, 1 악장은 발전부가 생략된 Sonata 형식, 2 악장은 완전한 Sonata 형식, 3 악장은 3부 형식, 4 악장은 Rondo Sonata 형식으로 되어있다. 서로 주고 받는 형식이 많이 쓰였으며, 제 4악장에는 Canon 기법이 사용되기도 했다. 또한 A, B, C라는 세개의 순환 동기가 전곡에서 사용되면서 악장간에 통일성이 부여되고 있다.
