현대패션에 나타난 스페인 민속복 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is first to examine the materialized background & characteristics of Spain folk costumes, then the findings are applied to its influence on contemporary fashion as of World War Ⅱ. The research method to conduct this study consists of the two parts. First part is mainly literature review centered on the costumes, and the latter part is that of empirical research by going over every articles and pictures of Paris collections held from the 1985 A/W t o the 1995 A/W season through the magazines such as American 「Vogue」, Japanese 「Mode et Mode」and 「High Fashion」. When in modern fashion trends Spain folk costume was first introduced by Balenciaga in 1945 at the Paris collections, then it was continued by Yves Saint Laurant with "Romanticism" of his own 1977 Pre＾t Porter Collection. While in taking advantage of the modern fashion mood, the folk costume has been expressed in more diverse ways after the anouncement of 1992 Barcelona Olympics in 1985. Especially its peculiarity got the clue from Matador was acknowloged when Lacroix released his 'Matador Look' in 1990 A/W Haute Couture Collection. Hence by the geographic condition, being located a t the south-west part of Europe, the Iberian penninsula, Spain culture got exposed to be compounded of the various cultures. Especially the changeable climate has led to the vaious typed folklores. And the national trait as a mark of closed and conservative character has been preserving the typical characteristics of the folk costume. Based on the above by the late 15th century to the middle of 16th century the creative dressing attitude called "exaggerrated form" , "black color" had the effect on that of many European countries. The characteristics of Spain folk costume which is materialized by the influence of its geographical setting, other races historic costume, and historic costume are as follows : First, Flamenco dress of the southern province had been mixed with its traditional costume characters of the Andalucia area and the gypsies who setted down after the 15th century shows romanticism by the use of frills and flounce. Black laced mantilla used to dress up for going out by the women after 17th century expresses the womens pure beauty is still used as the ceremonial headdress until today. Second, the Spanish embroidery in hand was developed in central part had preserved the delicate embroidery by decorating the bull fighters costume, is one of the most representative folk costumes. Third, nothern mountaneous province in terms of the strict style and the simple decoration shows the restricted expression of Spanish costumes. Fourth, the folklore of eastern area which forms the border with the mediterraeneon has elegant graceful characters as in womens hairstyle, breast decoration and for men who has opened and unresticted dressing manner shows peculiar hat, pants and rugs. Spain folk costumes peculiarity has been expressed today as in the exotic folklore mood by following three strong images. First image is that many frills & flounces of the flamenco dress was designed the way of formal form, hemline got the accent by in contrast to the scale down directly shows sexy woman and totally shows formal image influenced evening or opera dress. Second, 'Bolero' with its over decorated character influence on the fashion trend to show rich and deluxe at the ceremonial place. And polka dot printed on the surface of the flamengo dress brings out light and active image had led to the bright image dress. Third, even the color, red & black, shows the opposite dual images like elegant versus melanchonic, passion versus anger, but by the matching two colours left the graving strong impression on the fashion. Today the folk costume of Spain is chosen as one of the folklore mood and its beauty is conveyed on to it until now.;본 논문은 스페인 민속복의 성립배경과 특성을 고찰하고, 제2차 세계대전 이후 현대패션에 나타난 스페인 민속복풍을 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 논문을 수행하기 위한 연구 방법은 민속복을 연구한 문헌고찰과, 최신 트렌드를 다룬 패션잡지인 미국의 「Vogue」와 일본의 「Mode et Mode」, 「High Fashion」에 기재된 1985년 A/W부터 1995년 A/W까지의 파리 컬렉션을 중심으로 사진과 기사를 살펴보았다. 현대패션에서의 스페인 민속복은 1945년 발렌시아가의 파리 컬렉션에서 처음 소개되었고, 1977년 이브 생 로랑의 프레타 포르테 컬렉션에서 로맨티시즘을 나타내는데 연결되었다. 이후 현대패션의 민속복풍 경향에 편승하여 1992년 바르셀로나 올림픽 개최를 계기로 더욱 다양하게 표현되었다. 특히 1990년 A/W 오트 쿠틔르에서 라크루아는 투우사복식에서 착안한 마타도어 룩을 발표하였다. 스페인은 유럽의 남서쪽 이베리아 반도에 위치한 지리적 조건으로 일찍부터 여러 문화를 접했고, 기복이 심한 지형과 기후는 다양한 종류의 민속복을 성립시켰다. 또한 종교로 단합된 민족성은 폐쇄적이고 보수적인 특징을 가지면서 민속복의 고유한 특성을 유지시켰다. 15세기 후반부터 16세기 중반에 걸쳐 스페인 복식의 '과장된 형태', '검은색'은 유럽 여러나라에 영향을 주었다. 지역적 배경, 이민족 복식, 역사복식의 영향을 받으면서 성립된 다양한 지역별 민속복과 스페인의 대표적 민속복인 플라멩코 드레스, 투우사복식, 맨틸라의 특성을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남부지역의 플라멩코 드레스는 15세기 이후 이 지역에 정착한 집시들의 복식과 안달루시아의 복식이 융합되어 성립된 것으로 많은 프릴과 플라운스를 위주로 로맨티시즘을 나타냈다. 또한 고대부터 베일을 착용하여 17세기 이후 이 지역 여성들이 외출시 머리에 썼던 검은색 레이스 맨틸라는 스페인 여성의 독특한 우아함과 신비로움을 표현하면서 지금까지 의례적인 복식의 하나가 되었다. 둘째, 스페인 자수는 중부지역 민속복의 특징을 이루었다. 섬세한 자수장식은 대표적 민속문화의 하나인 '투우'에서 투우사들의 복식을 장식하면서 그 전통을 유지했다. 셋째, 산악지대인 북부지역은 18세기 후반의 군복과 유사한 복식 형태와 단순한 선장식에서 스페인 민속복의 절제된 미를 보여주었다. 넷째, 지중해와 접한 동부지역의 민속복은 세련되고 우아한 여성들의 머리모양과 가슴장식, 개방적이고 자유로운 남성들의 러그, 독특한 모자와 팬츠가 특징이었다. 이러한 스페인 민속복의 특성은 현대패션의 이국취미로 나타났으며, 다음과 같은 세가지의 양상으로 강한 이미지를 표현하였다. 첫째, 플라멩코 드레스의 많은 프릴과 플라운스는 플라멩코의 정열적인 동작과 연결되어 호화로움과, 앞은 짧고 뒤는 긴 경사진 헴라인은 섹슈얼한 여성을 표현하면서 강조되어 이브닝 드레스나 오페라 드레스의 형태에 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 투우사복식의 정교하고. 섬세한 자수로 표현된 과잉장식은 의례적인 장소에서 호화롭고 고급스러움을 나타내는 패션에 영향을 주었다. 또한 플라멩코 드레스의 전면에 프린트된 물방울 무늬는 경쾌하고 활동적인 이미지로 밝은 느낌의 드레스에 표현되었다. 셋째, 스페인 민속복에서 많이 사용된 검은색과 붉은색은 각각 세련됨과 우울함, 정열과 분노의 이중감정을 가지지만 두 색의 조화는 스페인 정서를 나타내는 패션에 영향을 주었다. 이상과 같이 스페인 민속복은 현대패션에서 이국취미의 하나로 선택되어 현재까지 그 복식미를 전달하고 있다.
