Arnold Schoenberg의 Brettl Lieder (Cabaret songs)에 대한 연구

Abstract

"Brettl Lider"는 1901년 Arnold Schoenberg에 의해 쓰여진 문학 cabaret형태의 성악곡으로, 대중 음악적 성향을 띤 연주 효과가 높은 곡이다. 대중 음악이 주는 다소 천박한 분위기에도 불구하고, Schoenberg의 순수 음악적 성향 또한 내포한 곡이라 하겠다. 당시의 cabaret는 단순한 술집이 아닌 예술가들이 모여 대중과 함께 작품을 나누고 연주도 하던 곳이었다. 이러한 대중과 함께하려는 문학 cabaret 사상에 젊은 Schoenberg가 영향을 받게 되어 쓰게 된 곡이 바로 Brettl Lieder였다. Brettl Lieder는 당시 문학 cabaret 경향의 작가들에 의해 쓰여진 시집의 가사을 사용하여, 가사가 다소 노골적이고 통속적이며, 형식은 단순한 형태를 취하였다. 이 곡은 또한 대부분 3/4, 2/4 등의 간단한 박자를 사용하였고, 성악선율은 단조로운데 비해 반주 선율은 다소 복잡한 특징을 지니고 있으며, 악기가 사용되는 곡인 Nachtwandler에 있어서는 piccolo, snare drum, trumpet등 독특한 악기 구성을 이루고 있다. Arnold Schoenberg의 Brettl Lieder는 단순히 돈과 오락만을 목적으로 하는 통속적 음악이라기 보다는, 당시의 문학 cabaret라는 사조에 근거해 쓰여진 Schoenberg의 또 다른 면모를 보여주는 곡이다.;"Brettl Lieder" is a vocal music piece composed by Arnold Schoenberg, and has a high effectiveness in playing with its popular music character. In spite of rather crude atmosphere, it also has Schoenberg's pure musical qualities inside. At that time which Schoenberg wrote "Berttl Lieder", cabaret was not merely a bar, but also a place where artists shared their music with the public and played their music. It is Brettl Lieder that young Schoenberg who was affected by this cabaret ideology wrote. Brettl Lieder, using the lyrics of poems written by literary cabaret writers, has the frank and popular words, and the simple forms. Also, it uses simple beats like 3/4, 2/4. Although the melody of the music is monotonous, its accompaniment is rather complicated, and Nachtwandler, using musical instruments, has the unique composition of musical instruments, such as piccolo, snare drum, trumpet. Arnold schoenberg's Brettl Lieder is not only the conventional music which pursues money and entertainment as a purpose, but also shows Schoenberg's different aspects which are based on the literary trend of thought-cabaret.
