아버지의 정서표현성 및 언어통제 유형과 유아의 사회적 능력 간의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 유아의 사회적 능력이 유아의 성별에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 알아보고 아버지의 정서표현성 및 언어통제 유형과 유아의 사회적 능력간의 어떠한 상관관계가 있는지 알아봄으로서 사회적으로 유능한 인간으로 성장하는데 필요한 유아의 사회적 능력을 향상시키기 위하여 바람직한 아버지-자녀 관계 형성에 도움을 주고자 하는데에 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 목적을 위해 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 아버지의 정서표현성 및 언어통제 유형의 일반적인 경향은 어떠하며, 유아의 사회적 능력은 성별에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가? 1-1. 아버지의 정서표현성과 언어통제유형의 일반적인 경향은 어떠한가? 1-2. 유아의 사회적 능력은 성별에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가? 2. 유아의 사회적 능력은 아버지의 정서표현성과 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 3. 유아의 사회적 능력은 아버지의 언어통제유형과 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 본 연구는 경기도에 소재한 사립 유치원 4곳에 재원중인 만 4세, 만 5세원아 156명과 그들의 아버지를 대상으로 하였다. 유아의 사회적 능력을 알아보기 위한 연구도구로는 안라리(2005)가 LaFreniere와 Dumas(1995)의 Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation(SCBE)를 번안한 도구를 사용하였고, 아버지의 정서표현성에 대한 연구도구로는 Halberstadt(1995)의 정서표현척도(Self-Expressiveness in the Family Questionnaire)를 한영민(2005)이 번안한 도구를 사용하였다. 아버지의 언어 통제 유형 검사 도구는 Bernstein(1971)과 Gumperz(1973)등의 선행연구들을 토대로 도혜숙(1997)이 수정·보완하여 사용한 검사 도구를 예비조사 과정을 거친 후 자유기술 문항을 삭제하고 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, Cronbach's α, t-test, 일원변량분석(ANOVA), Scheffé의 사후검증, Pearson의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 언어통제유형의 하위항목 점수는 지위지향형, 인성지향형, 명령지향형 순으로 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 유아의 성별에 따른 유아의 사회적 능력의 차이에서는 남아가 여아에 비해 외적 행동에 문제가 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 사회적 능력과 아버지의 정서표현성과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 아버지의 부정적 정서표현성과 남아의 사회적 능력 간에 부적인 상관이 나타났다. 셋째, 유아의 사회적 능력과 아버지의 언어통제유형과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 아버지의 명령지향형인 언어통제유형을 사용하는 경우에 남아의 사회적 능력과 부적 상관관계를 보였다.;The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between father's emotional expressiveness and verbal controls, and their children's social competency depending on gender. The research questions of this study were as follows: 1. What is the representative types of fathers' emotional expression and verbal controls and whether there is any significant difference in children's social competency depending on children's gender? 2. What is the relationship between father's emotional expressiveness and their children's social competency depending on gender? 3. What is the relationship between father's verbal controls and their children's social competency depending on gender? The participants of this research were 156 for and five-year-old children and their fathers in 4 private kindergarten in Gyeongi. Questionnaires used in this study to measure the children's social competence were assessed by Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation(La Freniere & Dumas, 1995). Father's emotional expressiveness was assessed by self-expressiveness in the family questionnaire which is self-report scale developed by Halperstadt(1995). The questionnaire for measuring fathers' verbal controls was the one developed by Do Hyesook in 1997. It assesses three types of verbal controls based on Bernstein's theory: Imperative control, position-oriented control and person-oriented control. The data were analyzed by using frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations, Cronbach's α, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé, Pearson's correlations. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. A significant difference was found between the children's gender in terms of children's social competency. 2. There was negative correlations between father's emotional expressiveness and their male children's social competency. 3. There was negative correlations between father's imperative control under verbal controls and male children's social competency.
