Arnold Schoenberg의 Monodrama "Erwartung" Op.17에 관한 小考

Abstract

Arnold Schoenberg(1874-1951)는 후기 낭만주의 시대에서 20세기에 이르는 대표적 작곡가이다. 그는 1909년을 전후해서 표현주의의 경향을 추구하게 된다. 삶에 대한 불안, 공포, 죽음, 환상 등을 주제로하여 감정의 세계를 주관적으로 표현하였다. 이러한 표현주의는 무조음악으로 나아가 12음기법을 확립하는데까지 이른다. 기존의 논문들의 연구가 가곡에 집중되어 있으나, 한국에서 한번도 학문적으로 Opera "Erwartung Op. 17"에 관한 연구가 미흡했다. 연구방법은 단순한 음악의 화성·형식에 대한 분석에 그치지 않고 시와 음악적 표현과 더불어 그 유기적인 관계를 분석을 통해 밝혀 내서 "Erwartung Op. 17"에 나타나는 Schoenberg의 음악 어법을 추출하고자 한다. 본 논문은 Piano - Vocal Score에 의한 악곡 분석을 시도할 것이나, 차후 Orchestra의 Full Score에 의한 보다 상세한 연구·분석이 이루어지기를 희망한다. 필자는 가곡만큼이나 Opera에 대한 연구와 연주가 계속되길 바라며, "Erwartung" Op. 17을 연주하는 분들에게 도움이 되길 바라며, 이 논문을 통해 소개 하고자 한다.;This thesis os a study on one of Arnold Schoenberg's(l874-1951) Mo-nodrama, "Erwartung", which shows his musical characteristics of his second period. This study looked over Schoenberg 's life and his musical characteristics, then overviewed his vocal works including operas. The conclusion acquired by researching into the work are as follows : 1. There is no key signature therefore, it is atonal music. 2. None-thematic method is used because of no repetition of themes. 3. The soprano vocal line treated and reappears with countless changes. 4. Chromatic passages are used almost all through the work. 5. The intervals of seventh and fourth are found often and the concepts of tonal or atonal is neglected. 6. Piano part has extreme diversities. 7. The libretto describes psychological situations and is expressionistic. 8. The dynamic marks have wide ranges of contrast. 9. The meter changes frequently. In "Erwartung" Op. 17, Schoenberg synthesized his musical idea with the libretto and music. It is the author's wish that this study helps who try to perform the Schoenberg's opera, particularly "Erwartung".
