가야금산조 경드름의 음악적 특성 고찰

Abstract

"Kyungjo" is a musical tune which is often used in medium-slow tempo of Sanjo, and it is generally called Kyungderum, Kyungje, or Kyungtory. The Kyungderum of Gayageum Sanjo is the same of Pansori's, and it is related to the folk song of Kyunggi area. Thus the music of Kyunggi area affected Pansori, and again Pansori affected Sanjo. This is how the Kyunderum is created. In this paper, Kyungderum of each Gayageum Sanjo will be studied: especially the difference, similarity in each style and the musical characteristic of Kyungderum will be discussed. By this, I expect we will clearly understand what Kyungderum in Gayageum Sanjo is. Furthermore it will help us to understand and perform Sanjo better. Before discussing Kyungderum, first I analyzed it according to the musical genealogy of regions because Sanjo from each region has its own characteristic, and there is more significant difference in the way each Sanjo adopted Kyungderum. The regions are three; Junnamje, Junbukje, and Chungcheongje. The result of analysis of Gayageum Sanjo's Kyungderum is as following.;경조는 일명 경드름, 경제, 경토리라고 불리는데 주로 산조의 중모리 장단에서 사용되는 악조이다. 가야금산조의 경드름은 판소리의 그것과 같고 경기민요와도 관계가 있다. 즉 경드름이란 경기지역 음악이 판소리에 유입되었고, 이것이 다시 산조에 수용된 것을 말한다. 본고에서는 가야금산조 각 유파에 나타나는 경드름을 분석하여 유파별 공통점과 차이점을 살펴보고, 경드름이 갖는 음악적 특성을 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 통해 가야금산조의 경드름을 분명히 파악할 수 있을 것으로 기대하며, 이는 산조 음악의 이해와 연주에 도움이 될 것으로 본다. 경드름을 살펴보는 데 있어, 우선 지역별 전승 계보에 따라 나누어 분석하였다. 지역별로 형성된 산조는 각기 다른 특성을 가졌을 것으로 예상되며, 경드름이라는 특정 지역음악의 수용에 있어서 더욱 분명한 차이가 나타날 것으로 보았기 때문이다. 지역은 전남제, 전북제, 충청제의 세 구역으로 구분하였다.
