F. Schubert Arpeggione Sonata a단조 (D.821) 에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 슈베르트 (Franz Peter Schubert 1797-1828)의 「아르페지오네 소나타 (Arpeggione Sonata)」를 낭만주의 시대배경과 연계해 고찰해 봄으로써, 그가 가곡뿐만 아니라 실내악, 독주곡에 있어서도 음악사에서 얼마나 중요한 역할을 하였는가에 대한 분석적 논문이다. 이론적 배경에서는 「아르페지오네 소나타」에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 낭만주의 음악의 시대적 배경과 그 특징, 슈베르트의 생애와 그의 현악기를 위한 소나타들의 일반적 특성, 그리고 아르페지오네 소나타의 작품개관에 대해 언급했다. 아르페지오네 소나타는 슈베르트가 1824년에, 현재는 존재하고 있지 않는 악기인 아르페지오네를 위해 쓴 3 악장으로 된 유일한 곡이다. 제 1악장은 고전주의 소나타 형식에 근거를 두고 있으며, 제 2악장은 복합 2부 형식에 coda를 추가한 형식으로 작곡되었으며, 제 3악장은 론도 소나타 형식으로 A B - A'(제시부) - C(발전부) - B' - A"(재현부)의 구조로 되어 있다. 슈베르트의 이론적 배경이 되는 낭만주의의 시대적 배경과 역사적 의미, 작품의 음악적 분석을 통하여 그의 작품을 재창조(연주)하는데 있어 보다 이론적이고 체계적으로 작곡자의 의도에 가깝게 접근하려는 것이 이 연구의 목적이며, 연주자가 연주 시 주관적, 객관적 혹은 이원적 측면을 두 고려함으로써 작품을 완성하는데 그 의미를 둔다.;purpose of this thesis is to define and examine Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata in a minor, and to help understand and perform his work. Frnaz Peter Schubert was a composer who paved the way to romantic music after J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart, and L. V. Beethoven. He has been famous mainly for his art songs. But his instrumental works are also an important part of Romantic music literature. In string music, he has got a high reputation, too. Schubert tried to express his ideas and emotions in the romantic aesthetic position. Schubert composed this Sonata in November 1824, while living at his family’s residence in Vienna and only one year after the invention of the arpeggione, an instrument created by J. G. Stauffer. Schubert dedicated the composition to the guitarist Vincenz Schuster, who eventually became an arpeggionist. This instrument’s life was very short due to a number of technical problems. It was difficult to play loudly on a single string because of the low curvature imposed by its many strings and its guitar-shaped body made it awkward to hold. Fortunately, the composition has been arranged for modern instruments, such as viola and cello, and has stayed in the extremely popular repertoire until today. The fact that the music has outlived the instrument by some two centuries is a tribute to Schubert’s genius for memorable melodies. This study tried to examine the musical and technical implications of Arpeggione Sonata and the circumstances under which Schubert composed this significant work.
