F. Chopin 의 Polonaise Fantaisie Op. 61에 관한 연구

Abstract

Fre´de´ric Franc¸ois Chopin(1810-1849) active in the early 19th century representing Romanticism music was a Polish composer who is positioned importantly in the history of Romanticism piano music. His piano music harmonizes his fatherland Poland's nationalism with the French elegant and refined atmosphere. Such a music of Chopin's has a unique characteristic uncomparable to his contemporary composers' music. Among his works, polonaises may well be a piano work representing his music well. He composed 18 polonaises in total, but this study analyzed his last work "Polonaise Fantaisie Op. 61". As guessed from its title, this work features a unique form as well as a fantasy unlike his other polonaises. This piece not only has a free form but also shows free modulations in various ways, and in addition, its color tone is very luxurious because of diverse non-harmonic notes. Furthermore, its 5 themes using or varying the unique rhythms of polonaise serve to intensify the unity of the entire piece. Besides, cadenza style introduction, free accompaniment figure and fantastic chromatic progression are all combined to highlight Chopin's masterpiece. This study was aimed at reviewing Chopin's life and music, history of polonaise and Chopin's polonaise works and then, analyzing his "Polonaise Fantaisie Op. 61" to examine its major characteristics and its position in the history of music.;19세기 초에 활동했던 낭만주의(Romanticism)의 대표적인 작곡가 쇼팽(Frédéric François Chopin, 1810-1849)은 폴란드 출신의 작곡가로서 낭만주의 피아노 음악사에 있어 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 그의 피아노 음악은 조국인 폴란드의 민족적인 기질과 프랑스의 우아하고 세련된 분위기가 함께 조화를 이루고 있다. 이러한 쇼팽의 음악은 그 당시 다른 작곡가에게서는 찾아볼 수 없는 자신만의 독특한 특성을 담고 있다. 쇼팽의 피아노 곡 중 폴로네이즈(Polonaise)는 이러한 쇼팽의 음악성을 잘 나타내 주는 장르이다. 그는 모두 18곡의 폴로네이즈를 작곡하였는데, 본 논문에서는 가장 마지막에 작곡되어진 「환상 폴로네이즈(Polonaise-Fantaisie) Op. 61」 를 연구 분석 하였다. 이 작품은 표제에서 알 수 있듯이, 다른 폴로네이즈와는 달리 환상적인 성격을 함께 지니고 있는 독특한 형태의 곡이다. 이 곡에서는 자유로운 형식과 더불어 대담한 화성진행과 여러 가지 방법을 통한 자유로운 전조가 이루어지고 있으며 다양한 비화성음의 사용으로 곡의 색채가 화려하다. 또한 폴로네이즈 특유의 리듬을 사용·변형한 5개의 주제들은 곡 전체에 통일감을 더해준다. 또한 카덴차풍의 서주와 자유로운 반주 음형, 반음계진행의 환상적인 요소를 결합하여 쇼팽 최고의 걸작품으로서의 가치를 더해 주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 쇼팽의 생애와 피아노 음악 그리고 폴로네이즈의 역사와 쇼팽 폴로네이즈가 갖는 특징을 알아보고, 「환상 폴로네이즈 Op. 61」를 분석함으로써 그의 작품의 주요한 특징과 음악사적인 위치를 고찰해 보고자 한다.
