모자이크 타일의 문양을 응용한 복식 디자인 연구

Abstract

기계화, 문명화 된 현대사회에 있어서 복식은 조형예술의 한 분야로 간주되고 있으며, 개인의 창조적 욕구를 충족시키며 개성을 표현케하는 이상적인 매체로 인식되고 있다. 그리고 복식디자인은 생활의 향상과 더불어 인간의 자기 욕구 충족과 필요성에 의해 보다 실용적이고 세련된 감각의 독창성을 갖는 디자인을 추구하게 되었다. 기하학적인 형태는 이러한 미적인 요구에 보다 충족할 수 있는 합리성·단순성·명확성·객관성 등의 요소로 인해 시각전달이 빠르고 설득력과 정돈성이 강한 형태이다. 또한 형태를 창조하는데에 있어 매우 편리하고 합리적인 형태이다. 이에 본 연구는 기하학적 문양의 형태(形態)를 중심으로 이슬람 모자이크 타일의 기하학적 문양을 구조분석하여 이를 복식에 적용시켜 다양한 디자인 개발의 가능성을 제시하고 표현 모티브의 영역을 확대하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 이론적 배경으로서 모자이크 타일 문양의 특징과 종류 그리고 기하학적 형태의 특성과 기하학적 문양에 대해 살펴보았다. 작품제작의 배경으로 이슬람 모자이크 타일의 기하학적 문양을 재질, 색상, 문양의 측면에서 살펴본 후, 기하학적 문양의 형의 분석을 통하여 이를 작품에 적용하였다. 또한 기하학적 문양이 현대복식에 어떻게 도입되어 표현되고 있는가를 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 방법은 이론적 배경을 위한 문헌자료와 사진참고자료를 수집하여 정리·분석하였고 이를 토대로 작품을 제작하였다. 작품제작은 모자이크 타일에 나타난 기하학적 문양을 중심으로 이를 패치워크 기법을 통하여 현대 여성 복식에 응용하여 실물작품 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기하학적 형태(形態)와 형태의 만남에 있어서 절제있는 구성으로 조형미와 합리성을 가능케하는 새로운 형태로서 무한한 디자인 개발이 가능한 모티브로 나타났고 디자이너에게 창조적인 영감을 줄 수 있었다. 그리고 기하학적 문양의 미적 특성들은 실용성과 간결미를 추구하는 현대복식의 조형미와 잘 부합되었다. 둘째, 단순하고 명쾌한 감각을 주는 기하학적 문양을 부드러운 곡선의 단순한 원피스나 투피스 위에 조화시킴으로써 시각적으로 활력을 줄 수 있었다. 세째, 기하학적 문양을 모자이크 타일에서 도출시켜 새롭게 반복, 재배열, 확대, 변형시킴으로써 단순히 건축 요소가 아니라 복식표면에 더욱 풍요로운 선택 대상으로 인식될 수 있었다. 네째, 기하학적 문양을 패치워크 기법으로 표현하기에 울 크레이프는 봉제하기 용이하여 작품제작에 적합한 소재였고, 수공예적인 패치워크 기법을 사용해서 고부가가치를 줄 수 있는 가능성을 제시할 수 있었다.;In the mechanized and civilized modern society, the dress and its ornaments are being regarded as one field of plastic art, and it is being recognized as the ideal medium to satisfy the creative desire of individual and to make on express the individuality. And, as for the design of dress and its ormaments, this researcher came to pursue the design to have the originality of more practical and refined sense by the satisfaction of self-desire of human beingssand the necessity with the improvement of life. The geometrical form is the form that the visual transmission is fast and the persuasion and order nature are strong by the elements such as rationality, simplicity, clearness and objectivity etc. to be able to satisfy this aesthetic desire. In addition, it is very convenient and rational form in creating the form. So the goal of this study is to present the possibility of development of diverse designs and expand the realm of expression motive, by analyzing the structure of geometrical pattern of Islam mosaic tile centering around the form of geometrical pattern and applying this to the dress and its ornaments. As for the contents of this study, this researcher examined about the feature and kind of pattern of mosaic tile and the feature of geometrical form and the geometrical pattern as the theoretical background. As the background of work manufacture, after examining the geometrical pattern of Islam mosaic tile from the viewpoint of material, color and pattern, through the analysis of form of geometrical pattern, this researcher applied this to work. In addition, this researcher examined how the geometrical pattern is being introduced and expressed to modern dress and its ornaments. As for the method of this study, this researcher collected, arranged and analyed the literature data for the theoretical background and the reference data of photo, and manufactured the work on the basis of this. As for the work manufacture, this researcher manufactured 8 pieces of original works by applying the geometrical pattern which appeared in mosaic tile to the modern female dress and its ornaments through patchwork technique. The result of this study is as follows: First, the new form to enable the plastic beauty and rationality with the moderate composition in the meeting of geometrical form and form appeared as the motive that the infinite design development is possible, and it could give the creative inspiration to designer. And, the aesthetic features of geometrical pattern matched with the plastic beauty of modern dress and its ornaments to seek the practicality and concise beauty well. Second, Harmonizing the geometrical pattern to give the simple and clear sense on the simple one-piece or two-piece of soft curve could give the vitality visually. Third, by repeating, rearranging, expanding and transforming the geometrical pattern newly after deducing it from mosaic tile, it could be recognized as here abundant selection subject for the expression of dress and its ornaments newly, which is not simply building structure. Fourth, the sewing of wool crape is easy for expressing the geometrical pattern with patchwork technique. So, it was the material which is suitable for work manufacture. And they could present the possibility to be able to give the high value added by using the patchwork technique of handicraft characteristic.
