Victor Hugo의 시에 붙인 Franz Liszt의 네개의 Me´lodie에 관한 연구

Abstract

Franz Liszt is a composer, pianist, and conductor who was born in Raiding of Hungary. All his life by living in France, Germany, and Italy, Franz Liszt had obtained and acquired different experiences through whish developed his fundamental musical skills. That is what made him to be one of the world's most popular muscian. Although he is not known as a famous song writer, he has written over 70 different songs with different languages. His songs are flamboyant and rich in melody and have various descripitions. The lyrics are descriptive and perfectly touched with different literature. Liszt's French me´lodies fall in very special category in his musical output. Among his many songs, only 10 of them are written in French. Out of those 10, he had set four poems of V. Hugo. Although all of them has light touch of German culture, it is completely harmonized with French prosody. Thus it is rightly to be called the true class of "French Lieder".;Franz Liszt(1811-1869)는 헝가리 라이딩 태생의 작곡가이자 피아니스트이며 지휘자이다. 그는 전 생애에 걸처 프랑스, 독일, 이태리에 거주하면서 얻은 경험을 토대로 한 다양한 음악적 어법을 구사함으로 국제적 작곡가로서의 위치를 굳히게 된다. 가곡 작곡가로서 잘 알려져 있지는 않지만, 실지로 그는 여러 나라의 언어를 사용하여 70여곡에 달하는 많은 가곡을 작곡하였다. 그의 가곡은 피아노 곡처럼 화려하고 풍부한 선율과 다양한 기법을 사용하고 있으며, 가사에 대한 음악의 회화적 묘사 또한 완벽하다. Liszt의 프랑스 가곡은 가곡史에 있어 아주 특별한 위치를 차지한다. 단 10여개 뿐인 프랑스 가곡 중 Victor Hugo(1802-1885)의 시에 붙인 네 개의 멜로디는 모두 독일 양식에 쉽게 적용될 수 있는 곡들이며, 그럼에도 불구하고 그의 멜로디는 프랑스 말과는 완벽하게 일치한다. Hugo의 시에 의한 네 개의 멜로디는 낭만적인 색채가 짙은 잦은 전조와 서정성이 풍부한 성악 선율과 그와 조화를 이루는 반주부위에, 시와 음악의 완벽한 조화를 보여주는 높은 수준의 "French Lieder"라 불릴 수 있는 가곡이다.
