Arnold Schoenberg의 "Three Songs for Low Voice and Piano" Op. 48, 1악장 분석 연구

Abstract

Arnold Schoenberg는 12음 음악 기법을 창안한 현대 음악의 대표적인 작곡가로 고전주의 형태의 근본적인 원리를 바탕으로 12음 음악 기법 확립시키고 있다. 1930년 이후로는 조성과 12음 음악 기법을 조화시켜서 작곡하기에 이른다. Schoenberg 자신은 역신(revolution)이란 단어 자체를 거부한 작곡가이기도 한다. 성악곡 3-part puzzle canon for Carl Engel 'Mir auch ist es so ergangen'과 'Jedem geht es so'와 동일한 연도인 1933년에 작곡된 "Three Songs for Low Voice and Piano", Op.48, 1악장은 크게 3구분(section)으로 구성되어 있으며, 6개의 소구분(subsection)이 포함되어 있다. 각각의 구분들끼리는 비조합 집합(non-combinatorial set) 관계로 대칭(symmetry)를 형성하고 있으며 한 구분안에서는 조합 집합(combinatorial set)를 사용하거나 비조합 집합 관계의 집합쌍들에 의한 대위적인 기법으로 작곡되었다. 단2도, 장2도, 중6도의 동기적(motivic) 음정을 통해 변주, 재현되는 선율은 옥타브 상등(octave identity)에 의한 전회 진행으로 음역을 넓힘과 동시에 분절(segment)의 반복 효과를 보여주고 있다. 이러한 12음 음악 기법에 의한 음(pitch)의 구조적 기능(structural function)을 통해 Schoenberg 작품 중기의 대표적 성악곡으로서의 면모를 보여주고 있다.;Arnold Schoenberg(1874-1951) is known as one of the great musical composer who had contributed to the creation of twelve-tone music in the 20th century. In the year of 1925, Schoenberg composed his work, "Four Pieces", Op.27, utilizing twelve tone method for the first time in voice works. "Three Songs for Low Voice and Piano", Op.48 was composed with twelve tone music technique in 1933. First movement in Op.48 was constituted three sections and classified by six subsections. It is based on contrapuntal conceptions, including crab canon and set pair of non-combinatoriality with symmetrical construction. In subsections, it constituted combinatorial set or non-combinatorial set. Utilizing inversion by octave identity, register is extended and effect of repetition is appeared. The first movement of Op.48 is represented twelve tone technique through the pitch's structual function in the middle period of Schoenberg's vocal work. This kind of twelve tone vocal music style was succeed to Anton Webern's works, Opp.22, 23.
