F. Liszt의 Fantasie und Fuge uber den Choral "Ad nos, ad salutrarem undam"에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주회의 곡중에서 Franz Liszt (1811-1886)의 Fantasie und Fuge u¨ber den Choral "Ad nos, ad salutarem undam"을 분석 연구한 것이다. 이 연구는 Liszt의 organ 음악을 전반적으로 고찰한 후, 그의 대표적인 organ 작품인 Fantasie und Fuge u¨ber den Choral "Ad nos, ad salutarem undam"의 구조적 분석을 통하여 Liszt organ 음악의 특징을 이해함으로써 올바른 작품 해석과 연주를 돕기 위한 것을 목적으로 한다. Liszt의 Organ 음악은 진보적인 화성기법, 즉 잦은 전조, 극단적인 반음계, 다양한 tempo의 변화, 감7화음, 온음음계, 중화음 등의 사용으로 인해 낭만음악의 특성을 잘 나타내고 있는 한편, 신고전주의의 영향으로 형식면에서는 바로크적 요소를 지니고 있다. 그의 organ 작품은 당시 지배적이었던 orchestra 음악과 piano 음악의 영향을 받아 웅장하고 큰 규모로 되어 있으며 piano의 화려한 기교적 요소가 manual을 지배하고 있다. 이 곡은 Fantasie, Adagio, Introduction-Fuge의 세부분으로 구성된 단일악장의 곡으로 1개의 주제가 전체곡에 순환적으로 사용되고 있다. Fantasie는 주제인 choral 선율이 C단조에서 ♩. ♪♩. ♪ 로 리듬 변형되어 시작된 후 계속하여 다양한 조성과 tempo로 진행된다. Adagio는 느린 주제가 F^(#)장조로 제시되고 ♩♩♩♩ 리듬으로 진행 하다가 Allegro deciso의 Fuge의 Introduction으로 이어진다. Fuge는 4성 Fuge로 ♪.?♩. ♪ 리듬으로 변형되고 전통적 바로크 시대의 Fuge 기법을 사용하여 제시부, 발전부로 이루어져 있고 발전부에서의 subject와 episode의 교대는 Liszt가 전통적인 Fuge 형식을 중시하고 있음을 보여주고 있는데 Fuge 끝부분에 이어지는 Coda는 원조의 C단조에서 C장조의 화려하고 웅장한 Finale로 끝을 맺고 있다. Liszt는 organ의 전통적인 Fantasie und Fuge 형식 위에 19세기 낭만음악의 화성과 리듬을 사용하였으며, 그의 완벽한 piano 기교와 orchestra곡 같은 규모, 색채와 융합하여 화려하고 기교적인 organ 음악을 이루었다. Fantasie und Fuge u¨ber den Choral "Ad nos, ad salutarem undam"은 연주자에게 고도의 기교와 음악성을 요구하는 곡이며 모두 762마디로 30분간에 연주시간을 필요로 하는 대작으로서 19세기 낭만주의의 음악적 특징을 잘 나타내고 있는 작품이다.;The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and study the Fantasie und Fuge uber den Choral "Ad nos, ad salutarem undam" by Franz Liszt (1811-1886) from the repertoire of the writer's graduate recital for the completion of Master of Music degree. This study should help the understanding and performing of the work through comprehending the musical characteristics of Liszt, with a structural analysis of this great organ work, following a general consideration of Liszt's organ music. Liszt organ music represents romantic music at its best liberal, harmonic technique, that employs much modulation, chromaticisms, dramatic changes of tempo, diminished 7th chords, wholetone scales, tritones, etc., while maintaining some Baroque elements, under the influence of Neo-classicism. His organ works, under the influence o f the prevailing orchestral and piano music style, was on a grand scale, requiring a magnificent pianistic technique over all manuals. The work consists of Fantasie, Adagio and Fugue, and a single theme is used througout the work. In the Fantasie, the subject is the chorale melody which is rhythmically transformed, beginning in C minor, and progressing various forms and tempi. In the Adagio, a slow theme is presented in F^(#) major, which progress is through varius changes of tempo and rhythm, the final one being "allegro deciso." The Fugue is in 4 voices and can be divided into exposition and development section using traditional fugal techniques o f the Baroque period, and the interplay between subject and episodes suggests that Liszt gave importance to the traditional fugue style. Liszt used the radical harmonic and rhythmic techniques of 19th century romanticism, and It harmonized with his perfect piano technique, the current size of orchestras to produce colorful and magnificent organ music. The Fantasie und Fuge u¨ber den Choral "Ad nos, ad salutarem undam" requires great technique and musicianship of performers. This grand work of 762 measures requires 30 minutes of playing time. and is a representative 19th century work.
