1980년대 의생활 관련 기사에 대한 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서는 신문에 게재된 의생활관련 기사를 분석하여 1980년대 우리나라의 의생활 변천과정과 그 양상을 파악하였다. 본 연구의 대상으로는 국내 일간지 중 「동아일보」와 「조선일보」의 여성·가정란에 게재된 의생활 관련기사로 하였고, 수집된 기사는 의류보관 및 재료, 전통복식과 의복변천, 행사 및 강좌, 의생활 관련인물, 패션일반, 유통과 소비자문제, 기타의 7개로 분류하여 그 양상을 분석하였으며 연도별 변화과정도 살펴보았다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 양적 분석결과에 의하면, 의생활 관련기사는 총 1596건 이었으며, 연도별로는 세차례에 걸친 신문지면의 증가에 따라 점차 증가하여 다양한 정보를 제공하게 되었다. 2. 사진이나 삽화를 게재한 기사는 의생활 관련기사 전체의 58.9%로 나타났는데, 연도별로 보면 '86아시안게임과 '88올림픽이 열렸던 때에 특히 집중되어 있었으며 내용에서는 패션일반을 다룬 기사에 가장 많이 게재되었다. 분류별 기사수에 대한 사진/삽화게재 기사의 비율에서는 패션일반과 함께 전통복식에 대한 기사도 높은 비중을 보였다. 3. 분류별 분석에 의하면, 7개의 분류 중 의생활 행사 및 강좌에 관한 기사가 37.1%로 가장 큰 비중을 차지했고, 그 다음은 패션일반의 기사가 34%로 나타나 이 두개의 분류를 중점적으로 다루고 있었다. 4. 7개의 분류를 몇개의 소항목으로 나누어 그 양상을 살펴본 결과, 의생활 관련기사는 의복의 유행경향, 해외패션, 패션쇼에 집중되어 있었음이 나타났다. 5. 연도별로는 82년 교복자율화, 그리고 86년 아시안게임, 88년 올림픽 등의 시대적인 사건에 따라 주요 관심사가 변화하여 전반기에 강습에 관한 기사가 많은 수를 차지했으나, 후반으로 가면서 패션쇼와 유통 등이 주요기사로 등장하였다. 그리고 내용에서는 전체적으로는 의생활에서 유행정보를 다룬 것이 주요기사였다. 이상의 80년대 의생활 관련기사를 통한 연구결과를 종합해 보면, 정보화, 국제화 사회속에서 우리나라의 의생활은 패션문화가 정착되었고 신문은 패션의 정보원으로서 그 역할을 담당하고 있었다.;This thesis presents the aspects and the changing process of the habiliment of the 80's studied through a collection of newspaper items. This study was based on news items found in the Woman and Home Sections of the Dong-A and Chosun Dailies, two of the most popular national daily papers. The collected items were divided into seven categories -Proper Care of Clothing and Materials, Traditional Costumes and Their History, Special Events and Lessons, People Related to Clothing, Fashion in General, Circulating and Consumer problems, and Others- and were subsequently analyzed. Close attention was paid to detect any year-to-year changs. The results obtained are as follows : 1. A total of 1,596 clothing-related news items occurred in the papers analyzed. Quantity analysis indicated that the number of items per year incresed with the increses in the total number of pages for the newspapers. Hence, a good variety of information related to clothing were obtained. 2. 58.9% of the news items were accompanied by pictures or illustrations. Higher percentages were observed for 1986 and 1988, the years in which Korea hosted the Asian Games and the Olympics, respectively. The category of Fashion in General had the highest number of such news items, while both Fashion in General and Traditional Costumes catagories displayed relatively high items with illustrations to total items ratios. 3. Classfication analysis showed that the newspapers concentrated on two of the seven categories. At 37.1% the Special Events category had the highest proportion, while at 34%, the Fashion in General category had the second most dominating percentage. 4. Division and subsequent analysis of the 7 categories into smaller groups of these groups showed that the news items focussed on the fashion trend, the foreign fashion and the fashion show. 5. Year by year analysis showed that slight changes in the focus of news articles occurred with occurrences of such events as the banning of the school uniform (1982), the Asian Games (1986), and the Seoul Olmpics (1988). The major matter of the news articles, however, was related to the fashion trend. The clothing of the 80's were in high fashion with the growth of wealth of information and international relations. The newspaper served as the prime informer of fashion during this period.
