임신에서 초기양육까지의 어머니일 수행 경험으로 인한 '어머니'로의 적응과정에 관한 사례연구

Abstract

As the result of a higher education, the number af the college-graduated women that internalized the meaning of equality and possessed their own ability is going m increasing. But they get along, as a matter of fact, having identity not as an individual but as a mother. Consequently, on the premise to reveal the contradiction that only affirmative values due to mothering were highlighted, I intend to analyze the process of adjusting themselves to the identity as a mother, centering around the experience of mothering. Became the revelation of women's mothering is to show the social meaning that society impose on women as mothers. For this, making the college-graduated women who in the process of mothering, did undergo modification and / or alteration in their own plans and self-awareness an object of interview in-depth, the interviews extending over several times with the stream of time was useful in looking into their changing process. In the analysis of cases, for examining mothering from pregnancy to the early stage of fostering, I divided into three parts and examined them. Under the premise that before the childbirth mothers already form connections with their babies, I examined their experiences as preliminary mothers at the time of pregnancy and childbirth. As bring up baby is the actual execution of mothering, I examined the daily work of bring up baby and analyzed the mothering and thinking attendant on it. And besides its actual mothering, delineating women's activities, relationships, desires, etc. individually, I analyzed the contradiction of becoming a mother. Finally, through the process of balancing each other its contradiction in women's consciousness from I delineated adjusting to a mother. This study, though becoming a mother is the repressive experience that exclude identity as an individual, by revealing the experience of natural adaptation to a mother, I analyzed how women accepted various circumstancial factors that imposed on them as a mother, what meaning they gave about it, how they coped with that and intended to show some possibilities in change for women becoming a mother for some days to come.;대졸여성이 경제적‧정치적‧성적 주체성을 가진 한 개인으로 살아가기 보다는 어머니라는 정체성을 가지고 살아가고 있다. 그러나 어머니 됨으로 인한 이러한 여성의 억압적 경험은 은폐되고, 긍정적인 가치만 부각되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이상의 문제의식에 따라 본 연구에서는 대졸여성이 어머니 일 수행 경험을 통해 어머니로 적응해 나가는 과정을 분석하고자 하였다. 왜냐하면 여성의 어머니 일 수행 경험을 드러내는 것은 사회가 여성에게 어머니로서 부과하는 사회적 의미를 보여주는 것이기 때문이다. 이를 위하여 어머니 일 수행 경험을 하면서 자신의 계획‧자의식에 있어서 수정‧변화를 가진 대졸여성들을 대상으로 심층면접을 하였다. 사례분석에 있어서는 임신에서부터 초기양육기까지의 어머니 일 수행의 경험을 살펴보기 위하여 세 부분으로 고찰하였다. 출산이전부터 이미 어머니는 아이와 관계를 갖는다는 전제아래 임신‧출산시의 예비어머니로서의 경험을 살펴보았으며 아이기르기는 실제적인 어머니 일 수행이기 때문에 일상양육을 검토하면서 그 안에 포함된 어머니 일과 사고를 분석하였다. 그리고 이러한 실제의 어머니 일 수행 이외의 한 개인으로서의 여성의 활동‧관계‧욕구 등을 서술하면서 어머니 되기의 모순을 분석하였다. 마지막으로 여성의 의식속에서 어머니 되기의 모순이 상쇄되어가는 과정을 통하여 여성이 어머니로 적응되어가는 과정을 서술하였다. 여성의 어머니 됨은 한 개인의 정체성이 없어지는 억압적 경험인데도 여성이 자연스럽게 어머니로 적응되어가는 경험을 드러내어 여성들이 어머니에게 부과되는 여러 가지 상황적 요인들을 어떻게 받아들이고, 어떤 의미를 부여하며, 어떻게 대처하는지를 분석하여 앞으로 어머니가 될 여성들에게 미래의 변화가능성을 갖도록 도움의 실마리를 제공하는 것에 본 연구는 의의를 갖는다.
