Francis Poulenc의 "Sonata for Flute and Piano"에 관한 연구분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to review and analyze Francis' later work "Sonata for Flute and Piano" (1956) and thereupon, examined his characteristics. This piece consists of 3 movements in total; the first and third movements have a 3-part form, while the second one has a 2-part form. Although each movement has no key signature, they have a strong tonality in common. And each movement has a single theme, which varies and evolves to be used throughout the movements at large. Namely, a cyclic technique is used. All in all, the piece has an original color tone and dynamics, because it uses parallel and semi progressions, frequent modulations, increasing/decreasing chords, 7·9 chord, accent, syncopation, and the like.;프란시스 풀랑크(Francis Poulenc)의 Sonata for Flute and Piano는총 3악장으로 구성되어 있는데 각 악장의 형식을 살펴보면 제 1악장과 3악장은 3부분형식(Ternary form), 제 2악장은 2부분형식(Binary form)으로 이루어져 있으며, 각 악장은 모두 종결부(Coda)를 포함하고 있다. 각 악장은 조표를 갖고 있지는 않으나 강한 조성을 내포하고 있으며 오스티나토(Ostinato)와 지속음(Pedal Point)의 사용이 두드러지는데 이러한 지속음의 사용은 조성을 확립시켜주는 역할을 한다. 각 악장마다 단일주제를 갖고 있으며 이 주제를 변형, 발전시켜 진행하고, 이 주제적 요소가 전 악장을 통하여 사용되는 순환기법 형식을 갖는다. 화성의 사용에 있어 병진행과 반진행, 잦은 전조, 증·감화음, 7화음, 9화음 등의 사용이 곡의 독창적인 색채감을 만들어 낸다. 주로 규칙적인 리듬을 사용하였고 음형의 변형이 자주 보인다. 액센트(accent)와 당김음(Syncopation) 등의 사용, 잦은 변박의 사용으로 악곡의 변화와 역동감을 만들어 낸다. 곡의 표현에 있어 p와 f의 대조, 악상기호를 제시해 곡의 느낌을 다양하게 변화시키고 있다. 결과적으로 이 곡은 현대적 기법과 고전주의적 요소가 공존하며 자연스럽게 조화를 이룬다고 할 수 있다.
