L. v. Beethoven의 violin sonata No.5 in F Major, Op.24 "Spring"에 대한 연구

Abstract

Ludwig van Beethoven is known to be one of the greatest composers in the Classical Era. He opened the new field of music on the base of the technique of Haydn and Mozart. he made the classical music attain the highest stage and opened a gateway to the romantic music in the 19th century. He composed 10 violin sonatas at intervals between 1797~1812. The Sonata No.5 "Spring" was written in 1801 and played an important role as a transitional work between the first and the second period. This sonata is very bright and free, romantic and lyrical like the feeling of spring. And this sonata called 'Spring' by the coming age. The sonata No.5 consists of four movements. The first movement is composed of the typical sonata form including exposition, development, recapitulation and coda. In exposition part, the violin begins first theme of exposition with bright, elegant and simple tones. The first and second themes are played alternately by piano and violin as if they response each other. It is characteristic of this movement that development part is composed of only the elements of second theme. The second movement is classified three parts which are A-B-A and coda. In the first part, 'motiveⓐ' of first movement is used with transformation. Generally this movement is very lyrical in slow tempo like typical second movement of other sonatas. The third movement is simple, short and a compound ternary form which is A-B-A. In harmony, a sudden modulation of the second part which is effectively connected to the end of the first part gives us a feeling of surprise. It is characteristic that this sonata expanded its structure from three to four movements and inserted scherzo instead of minuet of the traditional sonata in the third movement. The fourth movement is rondo form of A₁-B₁-A₂-C-A₃-B₂-A₄-Coda. The first theme is similar to the 'figureⓐ' of the first movement. In conclusion, this sonata lays stress on the first and fourth movements. And the first motive of exposition in the first movement is used in all of the movements except the third. This shows consistency and characteristically special feature. we can notice that Beethoven established the traditional the sonata form of romanticism through this Spring sonata and furthermore he pioneered in the romanticism by way of a free and individual form of expression.;본 논문은 고전주의 음악의 대표적 작곡가이자 낭만주의의 문을 연 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)의 작품인「바이올린 소나타 제5번 Op.24 “봄”」을 연구한 것으로, 작품의 배경과 음악적 특징을 살펴보고, 작품 구조의 분석을 통하여 작곡가의 의도를 이해하고, 이 작품을 연주함에 있어 실질적인 도움을 주는 것에 목적을 둔다. 베토벤은 모든 장르에 걸쳐 많은 곡을 썼으며 그중 실내악곡 중에서는 바이올린 소나타, 첼로 소나타, 피아노3중주곡, 현악4중주곡 등이 주요한 곡들이다. 그중 바이올린 소나타는 총 10곡을 작곡하였는데 베토벤의 바이올린 소나타는 제9번「크로이처」와 제10번을 제외하고는 대부분 창작 초기나 초기에서 중기로 넘어가는 과도기에 쓰였다. 본 논문이 다루고자하는 바이올린 소나타 제5번은 1801년 빈에서 출판되어 그의 작품시기 중 제 1기에 속하는 작품이며, 모리츠 폰 프리스 백작에게 헌정 되었다. 그의 바이올린 작품들이 거의 어둡고 반항적인데 반해 이 곡은 밝고 부드럽고 여유로운 분위기를 가지고 있어, 이곡을 들은 사람들이 나중에 “봄”이라는 애칭을 붙여주기도 하였다. 이 곡은 모두 4악장으로 이루어져있으며 제 1악장은 소나타 형식으로, 제시부는 대조되는 두 개의 주제로 시작되며 밝고 우아하다. 발전부는 제시부의 제2주제를 중심으로 전개되었다. Coda는 전개부의 첫 동기로 시작된다. 제 2악장은 변형된 3부 형식으로 서정적이고 풍부한 선율이 후기 낭만적인 느낌을 갖게 한다. A부분에서는 제1악장의 음형ⓐ가 변형되어 사용되었고 B부분은 A부분보다 짧아 경과부같은 느낌이다. A′부분에서는 A의 주제가 확대되면서 콜로라투라적인 요소로 발전된다, Coda에서는 제1악장의 첫 동기가 단편적으로 쓰였다 제3악장은 겹세도막 형식으로 이루어져 있으며 짧고 간결하여 간주곡적인 분위기의 스케르초 악장이다. 제 4악장은 A₁-B₁-A₂-C-A₃-B₂-A₄-Coda의 론도 형식이다. 제1부에 제1악장의 음형ⓐ와 유사한 요소가 나타나고 제2부에서는 그 동주음 장, 단조로 이루어졌다. 제3부는 피아노에 대한 바이올린의 오브리가토 음형이 피아노와 교차적으로 사용되어 곡 전체에 생동감을 주며 Coda에서 정점을 이룬다. 이 Sonata는 제1악장과 제4악장에 중점을 두었고, 제1악장 제시부의 동기를 제3악장을 제외한 모든 악장에 사용함으로써 곡 전체에 일관성을 보여 주는데, 이것은 또한 이 작품의 특징이며, 순환형식에의 접근이라고 볼 수 있다. 그리고 급격한 강약의 대조와 스포르찬도의 빈번한 사용은 베토벤 음악의 자유로움과 강렬한 인상을 잘 표현해 주는 것이라 할 수 있다.
