J. S. Bach English Suite BWV 808의 분석연구

Abstract

요한 세바스티안 바하(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685~1750)는 후기 바로크의 대표적인 작곡가로서 여러 분야에서 걸작을 남겼으며, 대위적 기법을 특징으로 하는 그의 음악어법을 적용하여 중세의 무곡에서 발전한 조곡을 집대성하였다. 건반음악을 위한 바하의 조곡에는 6개의 영국조곡(Englische Suiten BWV 806~811), 6개의 프랑스조곡(Französische Suiten BWV812~817), 6개의 파르티타(Sechs Partiten BWV 825~830)가 있으며 특히 규모가 큰 영국조곡에서는 그의 생각과 음악어법들이 잘 드러나 있다. 본 연구에서는 바하의 조곡을 토대로 조곡의 전반적인 특징을 알아보고 영국조곡 제3번 BWV 808을 분석, 고찰하였다. 조곡이란 바로크 시대의 가장 중요한 기악형식의 하나로 중세말 사교무용, 민속무용에 기원을 두고 있다. 17세기 후기에 빠르게 유럽에 퍼지면서 프로베거(J. J. Froberger, 1616~1667)에 의해 확립이 되었으며, 그의 초기 조곡에는 알라망드-쿠랑트-사라반드 이 세 개의 기본 악장으로 구성되었고 후기에 들어서 지그가 포함되었다. 바로크 시대의 조곡은 바하(J. S. Bach)에 이르러 절정을 이루게 된다. 바하의 조곡은 네 개의 기본악장(Allemande-Courante-Sarabande-Gigue)외에도 필요에 따라 서주적인 성격의 곡이나 선택적 무곡(optional dance)이 첨가된다. 바하의 6개의 영국조곡에서는 부레(Bourrée), 가보트(Gavotte), 미뉴에트(Minuet), 파스피에(Passpied)가 선택적 무곡으로 나타나며 이 선택적 무곡은 모두 제2춤곡을 갖고 있어 트리오 형태로 나타난다. 영국조곡 3번에서는 모든 곡이 g minor로 통일되어 있으며, 관계조로 전조하는 경우가 많고, 어두운 느낌이 지배적이며 성부간의 모방, 동형진행, 음형 리듬의 교환이나 모방 등의 대위적 기법이 보이고 있다.;Johann Sebastian Bach is a representative composer of late Baroque period. He left masterpieces in music. Bach was the composer who brought 'suite' to the most accomlished form, which had been developed from medieval dance music. English suite, French suite, Partitas are prominent in his keyboard music. Especially, in 6 English suites which has Bach's musical language and his views are fully figured. This Thesis is a study of Bach's English suite no. 3, BWV 808. In the beginning, suite was a simple accompaniment to dance, but later it developed into an independent instrumental music. The suites of the late 17th century were spread in Europe. In the middle of the time, the style of classical suites was established by J. J. Froberger(1616~1667). He organized his suites in Allemande-Courante-Sarabande. He included Gigue in his late suites. Suites of Bach is formed Allemande-Courante-Sarabande-Gigue and optional dances. 6 English Suites of Bach have optional dances, Bourrée, Gavotte, Minuet, Passpied and they have 2nd dances. So it appears to the form of Trio. Each dance is composed in binary form, all pieces use the same g minor, while we can still observe frequent modulations to related keys, such as dominant key, sub-dominant key, relative key in English Suite no.3. And contrapuntal techniques are omnipresent in all of pieces; Contrapuntal techniques used mainly in this work, imitation between voices, sequence, exchanges of voices, exchage or imitation of rhythms. To brief, English suite no.3(BWV 808) shows a typical example of Bach's brilliant claasical suite work, which is the genre elaborated and perfected by the composer himself, as his essential musical features are also abundantly expressed throughout this work.
