Franz Liszt의 「Piano Sonata in B Minor」연구

Abstract

리스트 (Franz Liszt 1811-86)는 19세기 낭만음악에서의 절대적인 인물로 많은 작품을 작곡, 편곡하였고 여러 새로운 방법들을 시도하였다. 그는 여러 부류의 음악작품에서도 공헌한 바가 크지만 피아노의 귀재로서 피아노 음악에 있어서 가장 위대한 업적을 남겼다. 그리하여 피아노 음악에서는 새로운 방법과 피아노 기법들이 개발되었는데, 이러한 수법들이 잘 나타난 『피아노 소나타 B단조』는 리스트의 바이마르시절의 최고의 업적이며 19세기 피아노 음악 중 가장 걸작이라 할 수 있겠다. 본 논문에서는 피아노 소나타 B단조를 연구함으로써 그의 음악작품의 구조와 형식, 새로운 음악어법, 발전된 피아노 주법등을 살펴보겠다. B단조 소타나는 1852-53년에 작곡되어진 리스트의 유일한 소나타 작품으로 고전 피아노 소나타가 여러 악장으로 분리된데 반해 이 작품을 하나의 악장으로 되어 소나타의 구성 원리를 새롭게 해석하여 논리적인 배열 안에서 연속적인 여러 개의 부분 (section)들로 되어있다. 약 30분의 긴 연주 시간을 필요로 하는 이 곡은 760마디의 곡 전체에 5개의 주제적 소재들이 '주제 변형 기법 (Thematic trasformation)' 으로 나타내어지는데 긴 소재들은 전 곡을 통해서 음형적, 선율적, 성격적, 그리고 단편적으로 응용되어지며 리듬의 확대와 축소, 선율적인 유사, 전위 등의 무한한 변형과 발전된 수법으로 극적인 효과를 보여주고 교향시의 특징이라 할 수 있는 순환형식을 이 소나타에 성공적으로 도입하였다. 결론적으로 리스트의 소나타 B단조는 19세기 낭만음악과 그의 많은 작품들 중의 걸작으로 '소나타 (Sonata)' 라는 제목을 가지고 기존의 형식들과의 다른 소나타 구성으로 새롭게 해석한 점과 새로운 피아노 기술들을 도입하여 피아노라는 악기를 최고의 수준으로 끌어올린 탁원한 작품으로 연주자에게도 도전해 볼 만한 가치가 있으며, 연구적 가치로도 충분한 작품이다.;This study is research about the piano work 'Piano sonata in B minor ' of the Franz Liszt(1811~1886). Liszt was one of the leaders of the Romantic movement in music. And the piano stood at the center of Liszt's life and work. In his compositions he developed new methods, both imaginative and technical. Liszt's virtuosic piano sonata(1852~1853) composed in Weimar and this sonata is the Liszt's only piano sonata. This sonata is one movement that comprises sections in different tempos and employs the technique of thematic transformation, already evident in his symphonic poems. Liszt used a form of development akin to variation which he called thematic transformation. In sonata, five thematic element are transformed by the method of melodic similarity, augmentation․diminution of the rhythm, interval and inversion. And structure of this sonata includes the 'sonata form(exposition - development - recapitula -tion)' and 'sonata(multiple movements form)'. In short, in this sonata Liszt has marshalled all the resources of the piano, controlling them with what he chose to take from traditional sonata form. And this work showed Liszt's great dramatic power and lyrical expression by new method. The B minor sonata is one of the masterpieces of nineteenth- century piano literature.
