Robert Schumann의「Piano Sonata in F Minor, Op. 14」연구

Abstract

Robert Alexander Schumann(1810~1856), the representative composer of nineteenth century, especially displays the essence of romanticism in piano works. he was a talented composer in composing the large-scale character pieces, works based on one trait, connected as a series form under the one program title. Piano works composed intentively for ten years from 1829 to 1839 were mostly the character pieces, and large-scale sonatas composed in this period also include the romantic nature. This thesis will examine the peculiarity represented in piano works of Schumann and romantic features in his sonatas, based on the third work <Piano sonata in f minor, op. 14> among the three grand-scale sonatas. Important feature showed in Schumann`s piano work is the relationship with the literature. He edited the musical journal as a critic, and created characters like "Florestan" and "Eusebius" as well. the former symbolizes a passionate and rushing character, and the latter is symbol of lyric and sentimental one. This imagination appears as a program music in his music, and Schumann also composed several works based on the scene of the novel of Jean Paul Richer and E.T.A. Hoffmann. This feature is expressed by repetition and transformation of theme, various rhythmic patterns, and daring modulation. Schumann`s work <Sonata f minor, op. 14> is composed of four movements, and has a cyclic form that uses the Clara motto in third movement throughout the whole movements. The first and fourth movements have the sonata form, and the second and third movement display real value of Schumann in particular. Conjunct descending theme is appeared continuously through the characteristic articulations in terms of the various changes in rhythm, staccato and stretto. Especially there is an ambiguous distinction in modulation between the second and third movement due to the transition ranging long period It is characteristic that main theme appears in inner voice with ambiguous rhythm through the free imitation and accent alteration. This work is full of the Florestantic passion and splendor techniques, thus affects to the late romantic sonatas with a feature as a fantasy.;슈만(Robert Alexander Schumann, 1810-1856)은 19세기 낭만주의의 대표적인 작곡가로 특히 피아노 음악에서 낭만음악의 진수를 보여주었다. 그는 특히 성격소품을 하나의 성격적 특성을 바탕으로 하는 곡들을 표제적인 하나의 제목 아래 모음곡 형식으로 묶어서 대규모의 성격소품을 작곡하는 데 뛰어난 작곡가였다. 1829년부터 1839년까지 10년간 집중적으로 작곡된 피아노곡들은 대부분이 성격소품이며, 이 시기에 작곡된 큰 규모의 소나타들에서도 낭만적인 성격이 많이 포함된다. 본 논문은 3개의 큰 규모의 소나타들 중에서 세 번째 작품인 「피아노 소나타 F 단조, 작품 14」를 중심으로 그의 피아노 음악의 특징과 소나타에 나타난 낭만적인 특성들을 살펴보았다. 슈만의 피아노 음악에서 나타나는 특징 중에서 가장 중요한 것이 문학과의 관련이다. 비평가로서 활동했던 그는 잡지를 창간하기도 했고 문학적인 상상력을 동원하여 "플로레스탄"과"오이제비우스"라는 인물을 창조하기도 했다. 그들은 각각 열정적이고 돌진하는 성격과 서정적이고 감상적인 성격의 두 가지 면을 상징하는 것이었다. 이러한 상상력은 그의 음악에서 표제적으로 등장하고 있으며 장 폴과 호프만의 소설의 장면을 바탕으로 작곡을 하기도 했다. 이러한 특징은 슈만의 음악에서 짧은 주제의 반복과 변형, 다양한 리듬의 사용, 대담한 전조 등으로 표현되었다. 슈만의 「소나타 F 단조, 작품 14」는 4악장으로 구성되었는데 3악장의 "클라라 주제"가 전 악장에 걸쳐 주제 선율을 이루는 순환형식을 취하고 있다. 1악장과 4악장은 소나타 형식이며 스케르쪼인 2악장과 변주곡 형식의 3악장에서 특히 슈만의 진가를 드러내고 있다. 순차 하행하는 주 선율은 다양한 리듬의 변화와 스타카토, 스트레토 등의 특징적인 아티큘레이션을 통해 각 성부에서 계속해서 등장한다. 특히 2악장과 3악장은 조성의 구분이 모호한데, 이것은 긴 부분에 걸쳐 조의 변화가 계속해서 일어나기 때문이다. 자유모방과 액센트의 이동을 통해 박자를 모호하게 하면서 내성에서 주 선율이 등장하는 것도 특징이다. 이 곡은 화려한 기교와 플로레스탄적인 열정으로 가득차 있으며 그의 세 곡의 소나타 중에서도 환상곡 풍의 성격을 지니고 있어 후기 낭만주의 소나타에도 많은 영향을 끼친 작품이다.
