George Fredelick Handel의 Neun Deutsche Arien 분석연구

Abstract

헨델(George Fredelick H ndel, 1685-1759)은 바로크 시대를 대표하는 작곡가로서 후대 많은 음악에 유산을 남겼다. 그가 활동한 바로크 시대는 복잡하고 다양한 사회, 문화, 정신적 변화의 시기였는데, 헨델은 이러한 시대에 여러 나라들의 다양한 정서를 대변하는 음악으로 대중의 관심을 끌고 인기를 누렸으며, 시대의 요청에 부흥하는 예술 영역을 구축하였다. 헨델은 수많은 종교음악, 오페라, 기악곡, 합창곡 등을 작곡하였는데 이 중 본 논문에서 다루고자 하는 「Neun Deutsche Arien」(9곡의 독일 아리아)는 바로크 후기(1680-1750)에 작곡된 성악곡으로 제8곡만을 제외하고는 모두 다카포(Da capo)형식을 취하고 있다. 이 곡은 오블리가토(Obbligato)와 바소 콘티누오(Basso Continuo)의 기악성부가 성악성부와 같은 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 각 곡의 머리동기가 곡 전체에 반복되는 리토르넬로(Ritornello)형식을 취하고 있어 바로크 음악에서 나타나는 특징을 잘 보여준다. 또한 특정 리듬이 계속적으로 반복 · 변형되어 다양하게 보여 지고 화려한 장식음과 멜리즈마(melisma)가 오블리가토와 성악성부에 사용되어 음을 다채롭고 아름답게 장식한다. 가사는 종교적인 색채를 띄고 있으며 가사의 음악적 표현을 좀 더 선명하게 하기 위해 워드페인팅(word- painting)기법을 적절히 사용하였다. 본 논문에서는 「Neun Deutsche Arien」의 이론적 배경으로 바로크 시대 음악의 일반적 특징을 고찰하고, 헨델의 생애와 그의 성악작품에 나타나는 특징을 연구하여 바로크 음악의 최고봉을 이루는 그의 음악에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다. 또한 1729년에 작곡된 「Neun Deutsche Arien」의 작곡배경과 시인에 대해 소개 한 후 이 곡을 연주자적 관점에서 분석하여 실제 연주에 도움이 되고자 한다.;George Frederick Handel (1685-1759) is a great composer positioned importantly in the history of music. The age of Baroque when he was active was a very complicated period of diverse social, cultural and spiritual upheavals. During such a period, Handel attracted people's and enjoyed popularity with his music representing a variety of emotions of many nations and his diverse experiences, and thereby, constructed his own unique area of arts responding to the needs of the time. Handel composed numerous religious musics, operas, instrumental musics and choruses. In particular, the subjects of this study or "Neun Deutsche Arien" (9 pieces of German Aria) were vocal musics composed during late Baroque period (1680-1750). All of them but the 8th one has Da capo form. Since their instrumental vocal parts of Obbligato and Basso Continuo have the same weight as the vocal parts and the first motive of each piece has the form of Ritornello or repeats itself throughout the piece, they may well feature the Baroque music well. In addition, certain rhythms continue to repeated, being varied, while colorful decorative sounds and melisma are used in obbligato and vocal parts only to make the sounds colorful and beautiful. The text is religious. A sound-picturesque technique, namely the word-painting technique was qppropriately used to make clear the musical expression of words. This study reviews the theoretical background of "Neun Deutsche Arien" and the general characteristics of Baroque music, and then, examines Handel's life and characteristics of his vocal works to help understand his music or a peak of Baroque music. In addition, this study introduces the background and poet of "Neun Deutsche Arien" composed in 1729 and analyzes them from a performer's viewpoint to help them performed better.
