J. Brahms Violin Sonata No.3, Op.108 의 분석연구

Abstract

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)는 독일의 낭만파 작곡가로써 고전적 전통 위에서 독자적인 음악세계를 구축하여 큰 업적을 남겼다. 그의 작품은 비교적 보수적인 전통 구조를 취하지만, 그는 낭만주의 성향을 잃지 않고 창작의 큰 비중을 실내악 분야에 실었다. 브람스의 실내악은 총 24곡으로 41년에 걸쳐서 작곡되었는데, 어는 한 편성에 중점을 두지 않고 다양한 편성의 실내악이 쓰여 진 것으로도 유명하다. 그 가운데 대작으로 잘 알려진 세 번째의 Violin Sonata 인 IOp.108, No.3은 1886~1888년 동안 꽤 오랜 기간에 걸쳐 작곡되어 만년의 중후한 브람스 음악 특유의 품격을 잘 나타내고 있으며, 나머지 두 개의 Violin Sonata 보다 내용이나 정서면에서 좀더 완성도 있게 작곡되었다. 모두 4악장을 이루는 이 곡은 전통적인 Sonata형식의 구조이며 Piano의 반주와 함께 이중주로 쓰여 졌으나, 의미적으로는 하나의 편성과 같은 균형을 내포하고 있다. 이 곡에서 많이 사용되고 있는 리듬은 붓 점과 겹리듬 등이다. 다양한 리듬들이 점차 발전, 변형시켜 쓰여 지고 있으며 이러한 당김음과 Hemiola 리듬은 악기별 또는 부분별로 나뉘는 구분을 이어서 묶어주는 역할을 한다. 또한, 곡 전체에서 하나의 주제를 순환동기(motto)로 암시하여 각 악장을 일관성 있게 표현하고 있다. 따라서 절제된 신고전적 작품을 반영하는 Op. 108 in d minor를 당시대의 음악적 개척정신과 함께 풍부한 특징적 요소나 기교 등을 연구함으로써 브람스만의 내면적인 음악세계를 한층 더 깊이 이해하고자 한다.;Johannes Brahms(1833-1897), a German Romantic composer, left great achievements through constrcting his independent music field on the tradition of the classical music. His works were based on the relatively conservative structure of the tradition, but great emphasis was placed on the creation of chamber music pieces without the loss of Romantic tendency. Brahms composed 24 pieces of chamber music over 41 years, but he was well known for composing in many different arrangements, not in a particular one. His third Violin Sonata, IOp.108, No.3, which was one of his well known masterpieces, was composed for quite a long time over 1886~1888. It expressed later years of Brahms' peculiar musical dignity perfectly. Therefore, through researching Op.108 in d minor reflecting the moderate meoclassical style, in the aspects of its contemporary pioneer spirit and its techniques and features rich in the contents, the world of Brahms's music can be more deeply understood. This 4 chapter piece has the traditional sonata structure and is intended to be accompanied by the piano, but there seems to be one arrangement in terms of its contents. The main rhythms, Syncopation and Hemiola, play a role of making it hard to realize the division made according to the musical instruments and parts. Furthermore, each chapter is expressed consistently through suggesting one theme by using a motto throughout the whole piece. Especially dominant and tonic notes keep appearing as pedal points in many parts, through which many disperse chords and modulation make harmony, emphasizing the end of tonic notes. The melody of the violin, which comes as the main theme from the beginning of the piece, is characterized as the combination of the fourth degree and the second degree. This combined element is inverted, modified, and developed with contrapuntal techniques, to appear throughout the whole piece, and the element lets us savor lyrical minors.
