César Franck의 Violin Sonata in A Major에 관한 연구

Abstract

Cesar Auguste Franck (1822~1890) is one of the most prominent composers in the Post Romantic era, who has made a significant contribution to the development of pure instrumental music in France by applying the taste of classical music and romantic music, along with his religious background in Christianity. Violin Sonata in A Major in the only violin sonata composed by Franck while he was an organist, and conveys a unique and diverse composition techniques of Franck. While conforming the structure of Sonata, this work extensively uses contrapuntal melody lines, dramatic changes in rhythm, key modulation with chromatic chords, and one can even observe fugue component from the Baroque era. Furthermore, it is interesting to find that more than one theme are used repeatedly throughout the movements, which is rarely done in sonatas. This thesis and its contributions can be divided into two main parts in an attempt to help understand this work. The first part in concerned with Franck's life and musical characteristics based on his era. The second main contribution of the thesis in concerned with an analytical introduction of Violin Sonata in A Major and its structural components - such as rhythmical form, key modulation, etc. - in order to assist the analysis of the pieces.;본 논문은 근대 프랑스 음악의 선구자이며 후기 낭만파의 대표적 작곡가인 프랑크(Cesar Franck 1822~1890)의 작품인 <Violin Sonata in A Major>를 연구한 것으로, 작품의 배경과 음악적 특징을 살펴보고, 작품 구조의 분석을 통하여 작곡가의 의도를 이해하고, 이 작품을 연주함에 있어 실질적인 도움을 주는 것에 목적을 둔다. 프랑크의 작품은 시기별로 3기로 나눠볼 수 있는데, 이 작품은 제3기에 속하는 것으로 1886년에 작곡되었으며, 베토벤, 브람스와 함께 낭만시기를 대표하는 작품으로 볼 수 있다. 이 작품은 4악장 구성의 Sonata 3부 형식을 갖추고 있으며, 대위법적 기법의 다양한 변화, 리듬의 확대와 축소, 화성의 자유로운 전조와 반음계를 사용했으며, Piano 와 Violin의 동형진행, 모방, 예시 등의 유기적인 결합 등 여러 가지 기교를 집대성한 작품으로서 후기 낭만파의 대표적인 실내악곡이라 할 수 있다.
