Simulation모형으로 분석한 재고수준에 따른 변동가격제의 효과

Abstract

본 연구에서는 효과적인 재고관리를 위한 하나의 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 제품의 가격을 하나로 고정시키는 대신 조건(재고수준)에 따라 가격을 변동시키는 변동가격제의 효과를 살펴보고자 하는 것이다. 즉 고정가격(단일가격)제도와 변동가격제도 각각에 의한 기업의 순익을 비교하여 어느 제도에 의한 순익이 더 높은 지를 보고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 이 두 가격제도를 자동차 렌트 산업에 적용하였다. 여기서 고객의 도착은 포아송 분포, 서비스 기간은 지수분포를 따르는 대기행렬 과정으로 묘사한다. 고정가격제도하에서 제품은 단일 가격으로 고객에게 제공되며 제품의 가격은 재고수준이나 고객의 평균도착률(l)의 변화에 영향을 받지 않는다. 반면 변동가격제도하에서는 재고 수준에 따라 가격을 변동하며 그 결과로 고객의 평균도착률(l)도 변화한다. 즉, 재고가 적으면 가격이 올라가고 가격이 올라가면 고객의 평균도착률(l)이 작아지게 된다. 본 연구의 분석을 위해 시뮬레이션 프로그램인 ARENA를 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 몇 가지 다른 l(평균도착률)와 μ(평균 서비스율)에 대해 진행함으로써 다양한 상황하에서 변동가격제의 효과를 보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 고정가격제도보다 변동가격제도를 이용할 경우 다양한 상황에서 예외 없이 더 높은 순익을 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있다.;In this paper, we consider a problem of the effective inventory management in the car rental industry. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and compare the performances of the two policies each of which we call Fixed Price Policy(FPP) and Dynamic Price Policy(DPP). We formulate this problem as a queueing system with Poisson customer arrivals and Exponential service times. Under Fixed Price Policy, unit items are offered to customers at a single price which isn't affected by inventory levels or arrival rates. On the other hand, DPP offers various prices and arrival rates which are affected by inventory level, that is, if inventory level is low, the price rises and arrival rate diminishes. To analyze and evaluate the performances of the two types of price policy, we use the method of simulation modeled using Arena. In comparing the two policies, we perform simulation for many different sets of parameter values under various conditions. The results show that the DPP generates higher level of profits with strong statistical significance than FPP.
