이효민의 'Sonata for Clarinet and Two Cellos' (2004) 분석 연구

Abstract

12음열 기법(12-tone technique)은 Arnold Schoenberg (1874～1951), Alban Berg(1885～1935), Anton Webern(1883～1945)을 중심으로 한 제 2비엔나 악파(the second Vienna school)에 의해 발전되었으며, 이후 미국과 유럽의 여러 작곡가들에 의해 음열 기법이 다양하게 확대 발전되었다. 본 논문은 확대된 음열 기법 연구에 대한 일환으로 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos'를 분석함으로써 12음열을 통한 20세기 작곡기법의 구조적 특징을 알아보는데 그 목적을 둔다. 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos'의 작품 분석에 앞서 이론적 배격이 되는 서열된 집합의 구조 및 특징, 음역의 회전, 조합 추출기법에 대한 내용을 다루었으며 이러한 이론을 기초로 하여 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos'를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같은 특징이 있다. 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos'는 단 악장으로 구성되어 있으며, 소나타 형식이다. 각 부분은 템포를 달리함으로 그 구분을 명확히 하는 동시에 제 1주제에 나타난 음형과 동기가 이 곡 전체에 걸쳐 제시되어 통일성 갖게 한다. 제시부는 제 1주제에 나타난 음형과 동기가 반복과 변형되어 나타나는데 제 1주제와 제 2주제에서 느낄 수 있는 대조성은 이러한 음형들의 반복으로 감소된다. 발전부는 제시부의 각 부분에 나타나는 음형과 동기들로 각 부분을 구성하고 있다. 발전부에 이어 나타나는 재현부는 제시부의 축소된 형태로 재현된다. 조성음악에서 나타나는 소나타 형식의 구조적인 특징을 표현하기 위해 음열의 온음계적 회적기법과 추출 조합관계를 이용하여 중요한 부분들의 경계에 특정음을 배열함으로써 음열 음악에서의 조성적 통일성을 대신 암시하고 있다.;A 12-tone technique has been developed by the second Vienna school grouped with Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951), Alban Berg (1885-1935) and Anton Webern (1883-1971). Igor Stravinsky (1882-1945), Ernst Krenek (1900-1991), Milton Babbitt (1916-) and other various composers have spread it out to America and Europe. This paper, as an overview for the extended tone technique analysis, aim to scrutinize the structural features in the 20th century's technique with the 12-tone, to analyze the tones used for 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos'. As a preunderstanding for the analysis, the theoretical backgrounds are dealt with the structures and features of the ordered set, the structures and features of the ordered set, the structures and applications of the segment, the rotation technique, the derived rows, and the secondary sets. These fundamental theories support the analysis. The following features were produced: The prime row 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos' is segmented by trichords, tetrachords and hexachords. In the first movement of the sonata, the trichords and tetrachords are utilized mostly. Especially, the trichords are formed to have an augmented 4th and undergo many transformations by means of various rotations. Besides The tone technique used in this music is transformation of tone by rotation of hexachord unit. 'Sonata for Clarinet & Two Cellos' is written in sonata form. Each of the large sections, exposition, development and recapitulation is characterized by different tempos. However, the chordal and melodic motives presented in the exposition appear throughout the entire movement, thus functioning as unifying elements.
