프로코피에프(S. Prokofiev)의 「피아노 소나타 제 7번, Op. 83」에 관한 연구

Abstract

Twentieth century Russian music has experienced sudden chaotic changes as a result of socialist ideology, competition and conflict between the USA and the Soviet Union and the Soviet entry into World war Ⅱ. It gradually developed into a blend traditional Russian music with universal musical characteristics. Now, Russian music is in a very significant position in the history of music and also has produced numerous outstanding and creative composers and performers. Sergey Prokofiev (1891-1953), a great Russian composer and pianist, was one of them and he composed 「Piano Sonata No. 7, Op. 83」which dealt with the state of war that he wanted to express. This is the closest to programme music among the three sonatas (Opp. 82, 83, 84) and was composed in World War Ⅱ after his return from exile in Pars and US. In this sonata, piano is expressed as a percussion. It harmonizes sentimental melody and composed of three movements. The first movement is Allegro inquieto (speedy and restless), one of the greatest work he has done. It follows the classical form of A-B-A'-B-A". It is like blaring of trumpet and sharp dissonance is introduced with a simple melody. The second movement Andante Caloroso (slowly with passion) is very romantic with rich sound melodies and there is no direction, but it is just walking in a dream. The third movement reminds us of the dynamism of Toccata. It needs some techniques and consists of an endless dynamic of gradually rising excitement. Sergey Prokofiev created a unique musical language in 「Piano Sonata No. 7, Op, 83」by incorporating classical, modern, toccata, lyrical, and grotesque elements, which he considered characteristic of his musical language on a traditional foundation. This makes Prokofiev's contribution to piano music significant. he found endless potential in the characteristics of piano music, and expanded the function of piano music. In this aspect, he should be highly esteemed.;본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회의 연주곡목 중 프로코피에프의 「피아노 소나타 제 7번, Op. 83」에 관한 연구이다. 프로코피에프는 20세기의 시대적 상황과 그의 사상을 음악 속에 담아 자신의 내면세계를 표현하려 했으며 새로운 그의 작품들 가운데 특히 피아노 작품들은 19세기의 피아노 음악의 전통을 계승함과 동시에 피아노라는 악기에 타악기적인 다이나믹한 표현을 더하여 고전적인 양식과 현대적인 음악 어법을 조화시켰다. 이 가운데 9개의 피아노 소나타 중 전쟁 소나타에 속하는「피아노 소나타 제 7번, Op. 83」은 그의 음악적 특징과 독창성이 나타나 현대 피아노 음악에 공헌이 두드러진 작품이다. 「소나타 제 7번」은 1939년부터 1942년에 완성한 곡으로 현대 피아노 음악의 최고 걸작이다. 이 곡은 3악장으로 구성되어 있는데, 1악장은 전형적인 소나타 형식이며 대비적인 제1주제와 제2주제가 나타난다. 또한 이 악장에는 완전한 무조 형식으로 되어 있으며 타악기적으로 날카로운 리듬으로 내리치는 불협화음, 긴장 관계를 갖는 2성부의 부분으로 이루어져 있고 넘치는 스피드감, 압도적인 박력으로 가득차 있다. 제 2악장은 아름답고 중후한 로맨티즘을 띠고 있으며 다른 악장과 훌륭한 통일성을 형성하고 있다. 제 3악장은 정력적인 흥분을 직선적으로 고조시키는 악장으로 2-3-2 분할 박자에 지배된다. 본 논문에서는 그의 생애와 음악활동 및 러시아의 시대적 음악상황에 대해 알아보고 작품에서 보이는 여러 음악적 특징을 그의 음악세계와 연관시켜 논하고자 한다.
