L. v. Beethoven의 Violin Sonata No. 8, Op. 30, No. 3에 관한 분석

Abstract

Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827)은 고전주의에서 낭만주의의 문을 열어준 고전파 낭만의 교량적 역할을 한 중요한 작곡가로서 Haydn, Mozart와 더불어 빈고전파 3대 거장 중의 한 사람이다. 베토벤의 작품 경향은 세 시기로 구분하는데, 제 1기(1782-1802)는 그 이전의 경향을 모방했던 시기였고, 제 2기(1803-1816)는 그의 독자적인 개성이 두드러지게 나타나며 낭만주의 경향을 개척했던 시기였고, 마지막 제 3기(1816-1827)는 자기 세계를 폭넓게 낭만주의 음악세계로 이끈 시기였다. 그 중에서 8개의 작품인 Op12~Op.30까지의 작품은 1798년부터 1802년 사이에 작곡되었는데 이 시기는 그의 작품 양식 시기 구분상 제 1기, 즉 모방시기에 해당하며 Violin Sonata No.8 Op.30 No.3 G장조는 1801년에 시작하여 1802년에 완성된, 3개의 Violin Sonata 중 3번째 작품으로 그의 작품 시기 중 제 1기와 제 2기의 과도기에 속하는 작품이다. 베토벤은 그의 생애를 통해서 10개의 Violin Sonata를 남겼는데 그 중 Op.30 No.3은 3악장의 구성으로 1악장 Sonata형식, 2악장 3부 형식으로 Minuet적이지만 가요형식도 가지고 있어서 이 악장은 두 가지 성격을 겸비하였고, 3악장 Rondo형식으로 되어있으며 대위법적인 구성이 자주 쓰였고 Violin과 Piano가 대등하게 취급되었다. 선율은 주제의 발전적인 형태와 고전주의의 균형적인 요소를 더욱 강조하고 있으며, 또한 대위법적인 구조와 성부간의 2중주적 성격이 자주 나타난다. 본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주 곡목들 중 Beethoven의 초기작품인 No.8 Op.30 No.3을 연구 분석함으로써 작곡자와 작품배경 및 작품분석을 통해 그의 음악을 좀 더 넓게 이해하는데 그 목적이 있다.; As the subject of graduation thesis, I chose L. v. Beethoven's (1770-1827) Violin Sonata Op. 30, No. 3, which was played in my graduated recital. This study reviewed his musical characteristics and violin sonatas and thereby, analyzed Beethoven Violin Sonata Op.30 No.3 to discuss the tendency of his music as well as its characteristics and formal structure. Beethoven composed many works belongs to various genres of music during his life-time. Based on forms and chronology, Vincent d'Indy divided his works into three periods: first period of imitation, second period of embodiment and third period of perfection. His work shows some transient development between first period and second period, fully expressing composer's unique and liberal music style. He respected the masters' - Mozart and Haydn - sonata forms, but he departed from the conventional forms and music diction and instead, tried to change them into a flexible framework containing his conceptions. The results of analyzing this work can be summarized as follows : The first movement used the sonata form with 6/8 beat and allegro assai. The work consisted of a total of 202 bars. The subject 1 is dominated by G major and Tonic, while the subject 2 is prevailed over by d minor and Dominant contrastingly. The second movement has the form of A-B-A'; it has an irregular 3-part structure with the intermediate part diminished, while its tempo is di Minuetto. It consisted of a total of 196 bars. The third movement has a 3-part structure of A-B-A-C-A'. It is a simple Rondo form, so two vacal parts move almost equally from beginning to end. Moreover, sice the coda part is expanded into 54 bars, it may be a 6-part structure. In particular, the violin exchanges different subjects with piano rather than leads the melody independently. In other words, as two instruments are treated equally, the work looks like a duo sonata. Such characteristics of Beethoven's Violin Sonata Op.30 No.3 suggest his bold attempt to base the work on the traditional methods but depart from the tradition as well as his will to express his liberal emotion and personality.
