F. Schubert의 ‘시든 꽃’ 주제에 의한 Variations for Flute and Piano D.802의 연구 분석

Abstract

본 논문에서는 초기 낭만주의 작곡가 슈베르트(Franz Peter Schubert 1797~1828)의 음악과 작품을 「Flute와 Piano를 위한 Variations D.802」를 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해, 먼저 낭만주의 시기의 경향과 낭만음악의 특색을 대략적으로 살펴보았다. 슈베르트는 초기 낭만주의의 중요한 작곡가 중 한사람으로, 그의 작품은 후대의 낭만주의 작곡가들에게 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 다음으로, 슈베르트의 생애와 더불어 그의 작품의 전반적인 경향, 특히, 예술가곡 분야에 있어서의 특징을 중점적으로 살펴보았다. 그 이유는 그것이 그의 작곡 기법을 총체적으로 살펴볼 수 있는 분야이기 때문이다. 그 중에서도 연가곡 「아름다운 물방앗간의 아가씨(Die schöne Müllerin)」를 그 18번 곡인「시든 꽃」(Trockne Blumen)을 중심으로 연구하였다. 연가곡은 슈베르트에 의해 개척된 분야로서, 특히 「아름다운 물방앗간의 아가씨」는 그의 최초의 연가곡집이다. 그는 이 연가곡집의 18번곡을 주제선율로 하여 「Flute와 Piano를 위한 Variations D.802」를 작곡하였다. 본격적인 곡 분석에 앞서 원곡에 대한 분석이 선행되어야 하기에 이 18번 곡을 분석하였고, 분석은 가사에 따른 구성을 중심으로 하여 진행되었다. 그렇게 한 이유는, 슈베르트에게 있어서의 가곡의 작법이 시의 서사와 밀접하게 관련이 있기 때문이다. 이를 바탕으로 「Flute와 Piano를 위한 Variations D.802」를 분석하였다. 이 과정은 변주곡의 특성상 주제선율과 그 변화의 양상에 초점이 맞춰졌으며, 곡에서 나타나는 낭만주의적 요소들과 연가곡에서 받은 영향 등도 함께 고찰하였다.; In the early 19th century, Schubert, who was famous as a composer of lieder, left behind many masterpieces in the instrumental music field such as in pianos, chamber music, and orchestras. A special trait in his instrumental music, as is in his lieder, is the lyrical and beautiful melody, along with the change of role in the piano accompaniment. Unlike composers of the classical era who composed music by the development of a certain motive, he continuously had the lyrical subject melody appear in each part and developed his piece. He also had the piano accompaniment actively participate in the piece's progression. These points are seen in 「Variations D.802 for Flute and Piano」. First of all, the piano part participated very actively in the progression of the music. Even more so in Variations 2 and Variations 4, it took charge of a more important position than the flute. The subject variation was not formed by the flute alone, but was comprised from the natural harmony of each part. Secondly, the concept of 'steam water', which functioned as an important motive for the love song, appeared in transformation in each variation. This ih the evidence that when he composed this piece, he was not merely thinking of it in an instrumental matter, but had in mind the poem written by Müller. In short, he maintained the poetical sentiment of lieder in instrumental music as well. Third and lastly, 'unity' is accurately represented. This is realized through a continuous connection, and despite the fact that each variation is separated in accordance to the modality of a paragraphic styled variation piece, the method of a linked musical performance, or attacca, was used. Hence, the sound structure within each variation was made to continuously flow, which was an example of his focus on realizing 'unity' which was the primal interest of the Age of Romance.
