공간 구성을 위한 아트 패브릭

Abstract

우리는 공간을 주어진 것으로 생각하기 때문에 그것이 우리의 삶에 어떤 영향을 주고 있을 것이라고는 생각하지 않는다. 이는 일상적 공간을 단순한 시선으로 보기 때문이다. 그러나 인간은 기본적으로 감각 기관을 통한 시·공간적 경험 속에서 지식을 누적시켜 나아간다. 이러한 점에서 공간은 전반적인 지식의 기반이며 인식적 근거가 되는 것이다. 이와 같은 공간에서 가장 중요한 것은 “경험”이다. 실제로 표현을 위한 장소로서의 공간은 외적인 아름다움뿐만 아니라 내적인 의식을 표현하는 그릇으로, 인간의 “경험”을 통하여 심리적 세계를 반영하는 표현 수단이 되어왔다. 본 연구는 이러한 “경험”을 위해 공간의 인지 요소와 기하학적 모티브를 공간 구성 방법에 적용시켜 아트 패브릭을 통한 새로운 공간 창조를 하고자 한다. 인간이 본질적으로 공간 속에 있는 한 인간이 존재하는 공간의 느낌은 심리적 상호 소통으로 결부되어 나타나게 되어있다. 이러한 심리적 공간을 아트 패브릭을 통해 소통 할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 공간이라는 개념을 주관적인 내적 영역으로 파악하여 기하학적 도형의 조형 요소를 섬유 디자인에 도입시키고 최근의 수공예 기법을 응용하여 아트 패브릭을 제작함으로써 시대성이 반영된 현대 디자인을 연구하였다. 이는 섬유 디자인의 기능을 기본으로 예술과 디자인이 서로 교차하면서 개성적이고 독창적인 아트 패브릭의 가능성을 검토하는 것이며 섬유 디자인을 한 차원 높고 새로운 시각 예술로 재창조하기 위함이다. 이를 위한 본 연구의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술 이론의 문헌 연구를 통하여 공간의 개념과 특성을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 현대 패브릭 디자인의 경향을 고찰해봄으로써 인간의 심리적 소통과 공간 구성을 이해하고자 하였다. 셋째, 본 연구의 모티브인 기하학적 형태인 원과 사각형 도형의 특성을 연구한다. 넷째, 알기네이트 호일 소재의 가공기법을 연구하고 응용하여 본 연구자의 독자적인 표현기법을 개발한다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 섬유 미술에서 표현된 공간은 인간의 지각 세계를 심리적으로 반영하는 시각적 공간으로 무한한 공간 창조의 의미를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 기하학적인 모티브 형태인 원과 사각형을 중첩의 조형원리를 응용하여 공간감과 입체감을 표현하여 모티브의 크기와 배열에 따라 다양한 디자인이 이루어지는 가능성을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 공간과 기하학 모티브를 적용시킨 디자인은 단순한 모티브로써만이 아니라 인간의 심리적 공간으로 표현할 수 있는 새로운 개념의 아트 패브릭의 모티프로서 무한한 가능성을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 신 소재인 알기네이트 호일을 이용한 스티치 기법은 섬유 자체의 본질적 특성과 스티치의 선적인 요소는 다양한 패브릭의 질감을 표현할 수 있는 발전 가능성을 볼 수 있었다.;People don’t believe that space influences our life, because we think space is so nat ure. People just see the space at simple view. However, People basically acquire knowledge from spatial and temporal experience through sensory organ. From this point of view, space is a basis of knowledge and foundation of perception. In this kind of space, experience is the most important value. Actually, as a place for expression, space is a tool of showing not external beauty but internal awareness and a way of reflecting mentality through experiences. The purpose of this study is to make space with experience from molding art and awareness of space. A Feeling of space that mortality exists appear by psychological mutual understanding, as long as there is human being in space essentially. This study make such a psychological space can mutual understanding by art fabric. With the concept of space can be subjective inner area, I have studied contemporary modern design Introducing modeling element of geometrical figure in fiber design and producing art fabric applied the recent handicraft technique. It is to do re-creation by high and new visual arts that this function of fiber design to basis examining possibility of individual and unique art fabric while art and design crossing each other. For above purpose, contents of this study are as following. a. Investigation about concept and specificity of space through literature study of art theory. b. Comprehension for human's psychological mutual understanding and space organization by investigating trend of modern fabric design. c. Study of characteristic of circle and quadrangle, which is geometrical form that is motive of this study. d. Development individual expression technique of investigator who study and apply processing method of Alginate foil material. Through this study process, results areas following. i. In fiber art expressed space that reflect human's perception world psychologically is visual space which has meaning of infinite space creation. ii. Spacial sense and cubic effect are expressed by applying principle of overlapping each other to circle and quadrangle which are geometrical motive form and Various design could be possible according to size and arrangement of motive. iii, The design that apply space and geometry motive could have infinite possibility which is as art fabric motive of new concept that can be expressed by psychological space of human as well as simple motive. iv. A stitch technique with alginate foil as new material, by essential feature of fiber itself and linear element of stitch, could show development possibility that can express texture of various fabric.
