Morel버섯류의 이미지(Image)를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

Industrial development throw open the door to mass production. In result, the Industrial Revolution simplified every product. However, this quantitative expansion could not satisfy emotional desire. People are look for something which expressed her own personality with difference, and the object are returning to the Mother Nature - basis of life, mystique and beauty. Nature means a "phenomenon" which can be seen everywhere, and aesthetics of the Nature can be found not only in scenic view, but also in everything - from huge biological world to trivial inorganic substance. By expressing, reproducing and reorganizing the image of nature, human can represent her own character and desire for beauty, and be satisfied. Some designs were made from the nature - especially mushrooms which we live together with from the primitive aged, and has various shape and multiple color. In respond to human desire, the clothing industry has focused on value added business from meeting her basic and public purpose to satisfying profound and private appetite. As we want more to express individuality, we are running short of material for clothing. To solve this problem, we need to find out new material or value added texture. For this purpose, I develope and reorganize the Felt - the oldest technique in human clothing history, especially Nuno Felt. This study includes followings : 1) Mushroom's formative character by researching its biological feature and design cases based on it 2) Research the felt methodology to represent mushrooms's aesthetic characteristics formerly discussed This study researched mushroom's attributes in types and aesthetic characteristics in material and appearances, and design examples from books, articles, journals, periodicals and thesis of others. Also, this study researched the concept and technique of Nuno felt, as well as design illustration from books, articles, journals, periodicals and thesis of others to express in effective way. With this study of mushroom and Nuno felt, 8 designs of different clothing could be made. This study concludes following: 1) By motivating mushroom as design, harmony between nature and clothing could be expressed. In addition, it could be found out that a natural object can be a good motive in every expressional activities. 2) As mushrooms with various shapes and colors have repeated lines and surfaces, it is good motive for clothing to express the beauty of form. 3) The soft feel of the material of Nuno felt was suitable for the shape of mushroom, the natural creature. 4) Nuno felt, mixture of felt and other material to express peculiar feel, was good enough to shape the special surfaces in mushroom. 5) With various decorating and carving felt technique, the texture of the face could be represented deeply. This study made some value added designs in special figure by combining the mushroom, the nature, and the clothing, the art. In the extension of this study, I expect various felt methodology can be applied to textile industry as a new material development.;산업의 발전은 대량생산을 가능하게 하였지만, 제품을 획일화 하였고, 이런 양(量)위주의 발전은 인간의 감성적 욕구를 충족시킬 수 없었을 뿐 아니라, 역설적으로 인간은 자신만의 개성을 표현할 수 있고 차별화 할 수 있는 소비문화를 선호하게 되었다. 이러한 다양성을 표출하고 싶은 인간 욕구의 대상은 산업화에서 기인한 인위적인 산물에서 벗어나 예로부터 인간의 관심대상이었고 생활터전이었으며 신비로움과 아름다움을 지닌 자연으로 돌아가고 있다. 자연이란 말은‘볼 수 있는 현상의 세계’이며, 자연의 미는 단순히 자연 경관에서만 찾을 수 있는 것이 아리라 온갖 생물과 무생물을 막론하고 하찮은 유기물이나 무기물에 이르기까지 모든 자연의 소산 가운데 널리 편재하고 있다. 이처럼 인간은 자연의 이미지를 재현하거나 재구성함으로써 자신의 개성과 미적욕구를 표현하고 충족시킬 수 있게 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 자연물 가운데 원시시대부터 인간과 같이 공생하며 다양한 형태와 색채의 아름다움을 지니고 있는 버섯의 독특한 이미지를 도입하여 의상디자인을 하였다. 양모를 가지고 펠트기법 중에서도 펠트와 다른 소재를 결합해 독특한 고유의 재질감을 표현할 수 있는 누노펠트(Nuno Felt)와 여러 가지 색이 다른 펠트를 겹쳐 컷팅하는 카빙펠트(Carving Felt)기법을 응용하여 소재개발의 다양한 가능성을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 인간의 미적욕구를 충족시키고 자연의 아름다움을 의상소재 및 형태등과 같은 표현 영역에 확대 제시하고자 하는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저, 주요 모티프인 버섯의 이미지와 디자인을 살펴보았고 이를 바탕으로 모렐 버섯을 조형적으로 분석한 후 버섯을 응용한v디자인 사례를 분석함으로써 버섯의 이미지에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 그리고 펠트의 정의와 특성을 알아보았고 펠트의 다양한 제작기법을 분석하여 이를 바탕으로 한 디자인 사례를 알아보았다. 각각의 이론적 배경과 사례들은 단행본, 학회지, 인터넷, 패션관련 정기 간행물을 통해 알아보았으며, 이를 바탕으로 총 8점의 버섯의 이미지(Image)를 응용한 의상디자인 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연물인 버섯의 특징과 종류, 조형적 특성을 분석하여 버섯의 이미지를 의상디자인에 응용함으로써 자연과 의상의 조화를 추구할 수 있었고,버섯 모티프는 조형예술의 무한한 표현가능성을 내포하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 모렐 버섯의 다양하고 독특한 형태를 의상형태의 모티프로 사용하여 독특하고 개성 있는 다양한 의상형태를 창출할 수 있었다. 셋째, 펠트와 다른 소재를 결합해 독특한 고유의 재질감을 표현할 수 있는 누노펠트기법을 통해 버섯의 유연한 곡선과 곡선이 만나 이루는 다양하면서 통일감 있는 면의 주름 모양을 표현할 수 있었고,여러 가지 색이 다른 양모를 겹쳐 컷팅하는 카빙펠트기법을 통해 투과되어지는 면 사이로 투명, 불투명, 반투명이 나타나 공간감을 표현할 수 있었다. 넷째, 여러 겹의 다른 색채의 양모 층을 펠트로 제작하는 카빙펠트 기법을 통해 버섯의 풍부하고 다채로운 색채미를 표현할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 자연의 일원인 버섯의 이미지를 의상디자인에 응용함으로써 자연물과 의상의 예술적요소를 결합시켜 독특한 조형성이 나타난 새로운 시도의 의상디자인을 개발하였다. 누노 펠트와 카빙펠트기법을 접목시킨 소재를 연구함으로써 획일화된 소재에서 벗어나 차별화된 독특한 소재를 개발하여 표현영역을 확대하고 예술적인 의상디자인의 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이러한 가능성을 기반으로 다양한 펠트기법을 통한 창의적이고 감성적인 소재 개발이 활발하게 응용되어 보다 차별화된 고부가가치의 소재로 활성화시켜 의상의 조형적 표현 영역 또한 확대되기를 기대한다.
