This study has its objective in observing a gifted child with ADHD transform in the course of his school work by qualitative research, and the following topics had been made. 1st, how does a gifted child with ADHD modify himself in the school? 2nd, how does the child interact with others in his class? For this research, an object was selected. It was a gifted boy who had been diagnosed as an ADHD patient at his age of 5, and observed him actively while in school. The observation took about a year - started from March, 2003 to February, 2004-and some qualitative resources came out for the study. In order to get the resources, general observation, and in-depth interviews were employed. Based on that, his classroom has been written into a whole transcript and also the related cassette has been recorded. Besides, there were many other resources, such as the e-mail exchange with the boy's mom, the results from his school performance, and two different mentality test results: one by a child psychiatrist, the from Child Development Center. With the help of those resources, the procedures of child's adjustment into the school life and his interaction in the classroom were categorized and further interpreted. The followings are summarized conclusions from those investigation. 1st, the procedures of ADHD boy's school life could be categorized into 3stages: the typical stage, the connecting relationships stage and the stage that he revealed his prodigy. At the typical stage, the child appeared to be inattentive, overreactive, and impulsive, and behaved very independently; neither his learning nor his other school life does have anything to do with the school curriculum. He rarely participated in learning activities and his over reactions and impulsive behaviors put himself detached from his classmates. Also, the basic etiquette both in classroom and outside was hard to find. At the stage when he tried to connect with peers, he partially participated in the learning activities, but he didn't seem to change a bit in terms of his school life. The change in his learning style gave him some new images among his classmates, and the boy seemed to feel satisfied with that. However, he was just the same overreactive and impulsive in his class. By the way, in the last period that he showed his talents, he actively participated in learning activities, and highly attended to the classes, while he didn't have any meaningful change in interacting with others. 2nd, in this research, the boy's interactions in the classroom could be divided into the interaction with teachers and with the peers. By analyzing the two different interactions, each feature in the two different developments was typified and further specified. In interacting with teacher, at the first stage (typical stage), resisting, denying his mistakes, and disobeying appeared. Disobeying, being opinionated, being sociable, and understanding & accepting were shown at the 2nd stage, which is the connecting relationship stage. At the very last stage, disobeying, being opinionated, admitting his mistakes, having conversation, winning teacher's support and some other features showed up. Looking into the changes in each stage, those negative features like resisting, and disregarding got modified to some positive ones like being opinionated, admitting his mistakes, understanding & accepting, and winning teacher's support. Disobeying, however, was decreased in terms of the number it showed, but continuous. When taking a look at the interaction with his peers, mono-playing, playing bad tricks, and attacking appeared at the first stage. At the second stage, attacking, playing with a group, being sociable, satisfying his resentment, and taking excessive actions showed up. At the very last stage, having arguments, attacking, being sociable, revenging and being over-competitive were shown. Single-playing modified to group playing and attacking was partially improved as having arguments, and also he seemed to get sociable. Therefore, his interacting with others seemed to get improved but there were frequent negative behaviors like continuous attacking, satisfying his own resentments to others, being hyperactive, making too much competition, and revenging. Consequently, his interaction with peers got worsened.-
