<이웃의 토토로>의 음악 분석을 통한 히사이시 죠 (“久石 讓”)의 애니메이션 음악 스타일 연구

Abstract

In modern times, the domain and function of music became very wide and drives in comparison with past by the appearance of all sorts of cultural media and the introduction of technique power to be necessary for it with the development of multi-media. And, musics to do this new function is settling as equal and independent field, music is being handled as the important element of situation and meaning transmission importantly. In this study, this researcher examined the correlation between reflection and music in accordance with story unfolding and tried to find the features of musical composition element by analyzing the music of〈Totoro of neighbor, 1998〉out of the works of Hisaish Joe, so as to examine the music style of Hisaish Joe out of the animation musicians of Japan which settled as a power of animation. And this, researcher examined the position that he has as a composer of Japanese animation music by examining the present situation of circle of Japanese animation music and the lifetime and works of Hisaishi Joe as a composer after arranging Japanese animation and the music feature by periods before work analysis. 〈Totoro of Neighbor〉received recognition by his career that he received all sorts of prizes and the public entertainment record internally and externally, and the meaning of analysis may be found as a representative work of period when Hisaishi Joe did the most prosperous work activity in animation music. As the result of study, the feature of animation music of Hisaishi Joe takes charge of the function to explain timely and spatial background or th show the outward feature for characters of thing or inside psychology or what it suggests, and it is using various musical composition technique for it. Then, it could be seen that the organic combination of individual features of this each composition element is playing the role to create whole atmosphere and decide genre. And, as these features are reflected to animation with his musical inclination to take serious view of romatic and Iyrical melody line on the basis of classic, they play the role to lead the story of work, the absorption into picture, and the empathy and maximize effect. Though this study, researcher could see the whole stream of Japanese animation music which is linked from past and which is developing with merits to be diversity and professional nature and the style of animation music of Hisaishi Joe. And, this researcher drew conclusion that music in animation plays direct role such as leading atmosphere or suggesting situation etc. by describing the atmosphere of scene and the feature of characters and also intervening in story directly and that it has the significance as the important element to absorb spectators into the story and picture of animation through it.;현대에는 멀티미디어의 발달과 함께 각종 문화적 매체의 등장과 그에 필요한 기술력의 도입으로 인해 음악의 영역과 기능 역시 과거에 비해 매우 넓고 다양해졌으며 이러한 새로운 기능을 하는 음악들도 초기의 보조적인 역할에서 점차 동등하고 독립적인 분야로 자리 잡아 가고 있다. 특히 애니메이션 분야에 있어서 음악은 상황과 의미 전달의 중요한 요소로써 중요하게 취급되고 있다. 본 논문은 애니메이션의 강국으로 자리 잡은 일본의 애니메이션 음악가 중 히사이시 죠의 음악 스타일을 알아보기 위하여 그의 작품 중 <이웃의 토토로:とたりの口, 1998>의 음악을 분석하여 스토리 전개에 따라 영상과 음악의 상관관계를 살펴보고 음악적 구성 요소의 특징들을 찾아보았다. 또 작품 분석에 앞서 일본 애니메이션 음악 작곡가로서 그가 갖는 위치를 알아보았다. <이웃의 토토로>는 미야자키 하야오 감독의 대표작으로 국내외에서 각종 수상 경력과 흥행기록으로 인정을 받았으며 애니메이션 음악에 있어 히사이시 죠가 가장 왕성한 작품 활동을 하던 시기의 대표작으로서 분석의 의미를 찾을 수 있다. 연구 결과, 히사이시 죠는 애니메이션의 시, 공간적 배경을 설명하거나 등장인물이나 사물의 외형상의 특징, 혹은 내면 심리나 암시하는 바를 나타내기 위해 작곡 기법에 있어서 여러 음악적 구성 요소를 사용하고 있다. 특히 화면과의 연관성을 갖도록 상황에 따라 특징적인 리듬, 화성, 조성, 악기 편성 등을 사용하여 전체적인 분위기를 표현하였다. 또 고전 음악과 현대음악, 재즈와 전통 일본 가요의 여러 가지 특징들을 조화롭게 연결시켜 그만의 고유한 음악적 색채를 나타내었다. 그리고 이러한 특징들은 낭만적이고 서정적인 멜로디 라인을 중요시 하는 그의 음악적 성향과 함께 애니메이션에 반영되어 작품의 스토리와 화면으로의 몰입과 감정이입을 유도하며 효과를 극대화 시켜주는 역할을 하였다. 본 연구를 통해서 히사이시 죠의 애니메이션 음악은 이미지 앨범(image album)이라는 초반 작업을 통해 화면의 공간적 배경 묘사에 중점을 두고 있으며, 오케스트라 위주의 클래식 음악의 기본위에 재즈적 특징과 5음 음계, 현대 음악 등 다양한 스타일의 음악적 요소들을 첨가시켜 대중에게 공감을 이끌어내면서도 현대적인 감각과 새로운 형식으로 창조되고 있음을 결론으로 도출하였다.
