패류의 이미지에 의한 커피잔 디자인 연구

Abstract

자연은 우리에게 정서적인 안정과 편안함 그리고 아름다운 미의식을 제공해 준다. 우리는 또한 자연이 주는 형태에서 무한한 미적체험을 할 수 있고, 이러한 체험을 통하여 다양한 형태를 발견할 수 있다. 이러한 자연형태를 통한 미적(美的)인 체험은 우리 생활에 필요한 여러가지의 형태미(形態美)를 낳게 되었다. 예를 들면, 자연형태의 소라에서 나타나는 나선형(螺旋形) 구조는 우리 생활의 공간 건축과 그 외의 여러 조형물에 있어서 구조적인 관계를 갖는다. 이러한 관계에 의해서 자연형태는 우리 생활에 필요한 디자인으로 응용될 만한 가치가 있다고 하겠다. 본 연구에서는 자연형태 중 패류의 다양한 형태 속에서 형태의 질서를 관찰하고, 조형적인 형태와 선을 응용하여 우리 생활에 필요한 식기인 커피잔을 디자인 하고자 한다. 특히 본 연구에서는 패류의 형태 중 원추형을 자연적 기능 형태로써 커피잔의 기능형태와 일치가 되므로 이를 기본형으로 하여 그 안에서 패류의 조형적인 요소를 가미시켜 디자인 하였다. 연구방법으로는 먼저 패류가 가지고 있는 구조적 특징과 여기에서 나타나는 선과 형태를 연구, 조사하였고, 이러한 조형적 요소는 패류의 형태를 전체적·부분적 또는 확대 관찰을 통해서 살펴보았다. 다음으로 커피잔 디자인에 있어서, 우선 일반적 디자인의 고찰 및 커피잔 디자인의 실제적 기능과 미적 기능에 대하여 연구·조사하였다. 이러한 조사를 통해 커피잔 제작방법은 대량생산체제로 석고틀(mold)에 의한 이장주입성형(Slip casting)방법을 사용하였고 접시의 경우에는 소성시 휘어짐을 방지하기 위해 압축식이장성형(Solid casting) 방법을 택하였다. 식기는 우선 음식을 담은 색과 어울릴 수 있고, 또한 테이블의 색등 그 밖의 환경(분위기)와 조화를 이루는 것이 바람직하므로, 이에 어울릴 수 있는 흰색을 주조(主潮)로 하고, 색 안료를 사용하여, 다양한 변화를 시도하였다. 본 작품에 사용된 안료로는 현대화학에서 구입한 Cobalt와 Green, Yellow, Pink로서 각각 3%씩 사용하였고, 전사지를 사용하여 커피잔에 있어 다양한 변화를 주었다. 본 제작은 패류에 나타난 선과 형태를 디자인적 요소로 삼은 커피세트(Coffee Set)로서 컵 6개, 프림기 1개, 설탕기 1개 큰접시 1개로 구성하였다. 작품제작을 통하여 패류의 형태 속에서 나타나는 자연의 질서와 법칙을 우리 생활에 필요한 식기인 커피잔에 조형화시킴으로써 생활의 조형적 미적 감각을 높일 수 있다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다 하겠다.;The nature provides us with an emotional stability, a comfort and a beautiful aesthetic consciousness. Likewise, we could share a series of infinite aesthetical experience in the form renderred by the nature, and through such an experience we are able to discover its diversified forms. Because of the aestheticaL experiences through such a natural form, the form beauty of various instruments that are necessary for our life has been produced. For example, the structure of spiral form that would be appeared in the turban shell of natural form has a structural relation in the architecture that provides us with the space of our life. The natural form according to such a relation can be considered to possess the value that may be applicable to the design necessary for our life. Furthermore, the functional form that could be discovered in the natural form could be also found mostly in the instruments related to our life in this regard. In this particular study, an examination was made on the formative order in its own way within the diversified forms among the natural form, and through applying to its formative form and line appeared in the shells, it is intended to design a coffee cup that is an instrument of tableware necessary for our daily life. As for the method of study, an investigation was conducted on the structural characteristic possessed by the shells and the lines as well as the forms appeared in the shells as their form ative elements at first. Such forms and forms were examined on the forms of the shells through overall, partial or expanded observation. And then, in the design of coffee cups, first of all, a series of study were made on the general design and the practical function of coffee cups design as well as their aesthetical functions. Through these process of investigation, the manufacturing method was applied by slip casting by plaster mold with the device of mass production, and in the case of saucer, in order to prevent limbering when the plasticity takes place, solid casting was also chosen. Because of the necessity that should be harmonized with the colors of tableware containing food, a series of cobalt, green and yellow colored cosmetics were used in order to give the diversity of colors, while the white color that would be able to combine with coffee as well as its coffee cup was adopted as its main color. In addition, by using transferring paper a diversified variation was given on the coffee cup. As for the application of this manufacture, a set of coffee cups were adopted as an element of design with the lines and the forms of formative essence appeared in the shells for its effectiveness. Therefore, it was consisted of six cups, an appliance of Frima coffee creamer, an appliance of sugar container and a big plate for the purpose of enabling the process of this manufacture.
