꼴라쥬를 모티브로 한 기하학적 조형표현

Abstract

조형활동에 있어서 표현방법은 다양하게 변화되어 왔으며, 특히 20세기 현대예술의 주된 쟁점은 순수성과 자율성에 관한것이고, 작가들은 새로운 세계의 창조를 위하여 순수한 형태에 의한 자신의 내면세계를 독자적으로 표현하고 있다. 따라서, 오늘날 염색공예의 표현양식도 작가의 개성적인 미의식에 따라 다양해지고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 조형의 기본요소인 선과 형의 조형탐구를 통하여 기하학적 형태를 형성하였고, 작가의 내적인 심상의 이미지와 연결하여 독창적인 염색의 세계를 모색하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이론적 배경으로 꼴라쥬의 발생과정과 그 조형적 특성, 그리고 기하학적 형태에 대해서 살펴보았다. 이를 근거로 제작된 6점의 작품을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 기학학적 형태란 객관적이고 보편적인 자연의 질서에서 추출되어 지각적 사고를 바탕으로 단순화하는 과정에서 형태를 형성하고 창조적 의식으로 활용할 수 있는 순수한 형태임을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 기존의 다양한 천들을 이용하여 꼴라쥬한 것을 염색작품 제작의 모티브로 설정한 것은 꼴라쥬의 특성이 그대로 표현될 수 있는 방법임을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 본작품 제작에 있어서 염색의 자율적 표현을 위한 방법으로 파라핀왁스와 굿타를(Gutta:유성방염제)를 방염제로 사용한 방염법과 스크린 프린팅(Screen printing)기법을 병용하여 연구자의 고유성이 반영된 창조적인 형태로 재구성할 수 있었다. 이와같은 결론을 토대로 본 연구자는 앞으로의 끊임없는 연구와 작품활동으로 천과 염료가 지닌 표현 가능성을 개발하여 섬유미술의 창작활동에 가능성 모색의 계기로 삼고자 한다.;The expressional method in formative activity has been changed variously, and especially the main issue of modern art in the twentieth century is purity and self-control. The artists individually express their innerworld through pure forms for the creation of the new world. Therefore, nowdays, expressional modes of dyeing craftwork become various with the individual aesthetic consciousnesses of artists promoted. Thus this study has aimed to constitute the geometrical form through a formative exploration on a theme of line and form among the basic elements for formation, and to grope for an original dyeing world by connecting it with inner mind image of the artist. For this purpose, I reviewed the origin of collage, its formative character, and geometrical form. The following are conclusions drawn from the analysis of the 6 works that have been produced on the basis of theoretical background. First, we could fine out geometrical form is a kind of genuine one which we can take form and use with creative idea in the process of simplifying our perception of objective and the universal order in nature. Second, the monotonousness of geometrical form has been supplemented by the reproduction of various patterns of cloth in collage technique through dyeing technique. Third, as a method of expressing autonomously the fabric with collage in the production of the work, the technique of Gutta and Screen Printing partly to the surface of dyed fabric, has been useful for the reconstruction of the creative forms which have not been the simple reappearance of the expressed objects, but in which the originality of the present research have been reflected. With this results, I want to take this as an opportunity to develop textile art through continuing study and activity.
