Abstract
A characterictic of art education lies in both must encourage students to develop their own competence in vigorous learning activities and promote needed character shaping which is. In a fast changing society, as today, How should art education play a role for the students to live creatively and feelingly at the entire world around them? We will have to study such a problem and move on. It is obvious that for vigorous learning-activities the students should be given various and attracting learning-fields, which leads to a confident, positive self-image and a good growth-development of adolescents. One of general problems in using materials for art classes in Korea is a monotony. This study shows that through random samples from 1050 students, their interests, the incidence of using materials, and slant using of them are being compared with teachers' factors, common, reconizable factors and so on. And the way of a survey is to make an analysis of testing sheets which are from the teachers working for 181 middle shcools. The results, being found in the sheets, are following: 1. The materials practically being used are restricted when compared with those presented in art text books, hence learning activities are not creative any longer. 2. The students practical interests in meterials for art classes are so diffenent from the current application of materials that their needs and interests are not admitted fully. 3. Scanty facilities for art Education, teachers' easy-going guidance attitudes towards applications of materials and principals'(included parents) indifference exist. 4. Ineffective materials currency and lack of understanding block teachers' self-regulation which undermine development of students powers of expression because of materials. 5. for many of students, preparing materials is an economic burden. A natural landscape and abandoned articles also are not their favorite subjects. In the above conclusion Now, to improve these problems and help promote students creative powers with various materials, Here are some suggestions: First, teachers' positive guidance attitudes, which leads to using of abandoned articles, natural materials and an effective application of them according to students' needs and interests Second, Interests of parents and principals in emotional Education. Third, a constitutional improvement by the authorities concerned of art materials-qualities and materials currency. Besides, it behaves the special consideration to be given to education environments which can help enlarge students creativity.;\美術敎育의 特性은 意慾的인 學習活動 속에서 自然스럽게 技能을 發展시키도록 刺戟하면서 전인교육에 焦點을 맞추어 바람직한 人格形成을 도모해야 하는 兩面性을 지니고 있다. 오늘날 急變하는 사회를 살아가고 있는 학생들이 未來를 積極的으로 創造, 收容하기 위해서는 美術載育의 役割은 어떻게 나가야 할 것인가. 이러한 問題를 놓고 여러가지 側面으로 연구하여 해결해 나가야 할 것이다. 의욕적인 學習活動을 위해서는 다양하고 興味로운 학습의 場을 提供하여 자신감있고 적극적인 自我槪念을 형성하여 靑少年期의 올바른 成長發達에 기여해야 한다고 본다.
