현대의상디자인에 있어서 모자이크 이미지 표현 연구

Abstract

의상은 동 시대의 다른 예술의 주제나 기법에 영향을 받기도 하고 또 영향을 미치기도 한다. 비잔틴 미술의 대표적인 양식인 모자이크화는 그 추상적 표현과 상징성 그리고 표현형식과 기법에서 나타나는 장식적인 특징으로 현대미술의 다양한 흐름에 잘 부합되고 있다. 그러므로 현대미술과 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있는 현대 의상의 표현연구에 있어서 모자이크화는 매우 적합한 테에마이다. 본 연구의 내용은 이론적 배경으로 비잔틴 미술과 라벤나에 대하여 역사적으로 살펴보고 모자이크의 예술적 특징과 제작방법을 고찰하였다. 현대미술의 장식적이고 추상적인 경향을 따라서 모자이크를 소재로 창조된 조형예술과 현대의상 디자이너들의 작품을 분석, 연구하고 이를 작품에 응용하여 예술로서의 현대의상을 제작하였다. 작품은 실물의상 6점과 일러스트레이션 2점으로 제작하였으며, 라벤나의 모자이크에서 느껴지는 화려함과 신비스러움을 표현하여 고급스럽고 개성적인 작품이 되도록 하였다. 특히 모자이크의 특색인 빛에 의해 반짝이는 효과를 위하여 다양한 종류의 비즈로 모자이크 장식하였다. 표현재료에서 오는 강렬함을 부각시키고 실용적인 의상이 되도록 울 개버딘과 울 크레이프를 소재로 형태를 심플하게 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모자이크 이미지가 표현되어 있는 현대조형작품과 현대의상작품을 고찰함으로써 빛과 색채의 예술인 모자이크 이미지가 현대의상 디자인의 독특한 조형적 소재가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 라벤나의 모자이크화의 색상을 분석하여 주된 색상을 침염법으로 명도 그라데이션 처리해서 광선에 의한 색채의 변화를 표현하였고 모자이크의 세밀한 면분할 표현을 위하여 실크 스크린 프린트법을 이용하였다. 또한 라벤나의 모자이크화의 이차색상들은 묘염법으로 표현하였다. 셋째, 모자이크의 특징인 빛의 굴절에 의한 광택효과를 나타내기 위하여 다양한 종류의 비즈를 이용하여 모자이크 이미지를 표현하였다. 넷째, 수공예적인 표현기법과 실용적인 디자인을 조화시킴으로서 독특하고 고급스러운 의상을 창조하여 개성을 추구하는 현대인의 욕구와 고부가가치 추구의 가능성을 제시하였다. 이상의 결과로 모자이크 이미지는, 모자이크화의 풍부한 색채와 추상화된 아우트라인 그리고 표현기법의 다양함과 섬세함이 현대미술이 요구하는 신선함, 대담함, 장식성에 상통한다는 점에서, 현대인의 취향에 맞는 테에마임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 모자이크화의 특성을 다양한 재료와 표현기법으로 부각시킴으로서 회화와 의상의 접목을 통한 독특한 의상 디자인으로서 표현 영역의 확대 가능성을 제시하였다.;Clothing is influenced by the subject or technique of contemporary other art, or the former influences the latter. The mosaic which is the representative mode of Byzantine art is corresponding with the diverse stream of modern fine art well, by the abstract expression, symbolic nature, and the decorative feature which appears in form and technique of expression. So, the mosaic is the invaluable theme for the study on the expression of modern clothing. As for the contents of this study, Byzantine art and Ravenna were examined historically, and the artistic feature and manufacture method of mosaic were studied. In accordance with the decorative and abstract tendency of modern fine art, the formative art and the works of modern clothing designers created out of mosaic were analyzed and studied. And, by applying this to work, the modern clothing design as art was manufactured. Works were manufactured with 6 pieces of real thing clothing and 2 pieces of illustration, so that high- class individual works may be made by expressing the gorgeousness and mysteriousness to be felt in the mosaic of Ravenna. Especially, for the twinkling effect by light which is the feature of mosaic, mosaic decoration was made with the diverse kinds of beads. And, the form was simplified out of wool gaberdine and wool crape, so that the intensity which comes from the expression material may be brought into relief, and the practical clothing may be made. The conclusion obtained through this study is as follows : First, it could be seen that the art of light and color, mosaic image may be the peculiar formative material of clothing design, by studying the mosaic being expressed in The modern formative art and the modern clothing work. Second, with color analysis of the mosaic of Ravenna, the major color was treated with the dip dyeing for expression of the color variation on account of light, and was freated with the silk- screen print for expression of the surface division of the mosaic. And the secondary colors of the mosaic of Ravenna was treated with the paint dyeing. Third, for showing the features of the mosaic, brilliance effect by refracted light, it was expressed the mosaic image, with various kinds beads. Forth the desire of moderns who pursue the individuality and the possibility of pursuit of high value added could be suggested, by creating the peculiar high- class clothing, with the expression technique of handicraft, and with the practical design. With above result, it could be seen that mosaic image is the theme which is suitable for the taste of moderns, in that the abundant color and the abstract outline of mosaic, and the diversity and delicacy of expression technique have something in common with the freshness, boldness and decoration nature. In addition, by bringing the mosaic feature into relief with the diverse material and the expression technique, the possibility of expansion of expression range as the peculiar clothing design was suggested.
