빗살무늬를 이용한 捺染디자인연구

Abstract

인간생활에 있어서 염색은 심미적 욕구를 충족시키기 위한 의복의 장식본능으로부터 시작되었고, 점차 생활양식의 변천과 산업의 발달로 다양한 재료와 기술의 발달을 초래하여 그 영역이 확대되었다. 따라서 공예염색은 작가의 조형의지에 따른 다양한 표현양식으로 변모되어가고 있으며, 산업염색 또한 과거의 대량생산체제에서 벗어나 소비자의 개성적 기호에 따른 소량다품종 고부가가치체제로의 전환을 모색해가고 있다. 이에 본연구자는 신석기시대의 빗살무늬토기문양의 독특한 선과 質感을 개성적으로 재구성하여 조형화하고 捺染을 통하여 實用化함으로써 독창적인 염색작품이 제품화되었을 경우 보다 창의적이고 차원 높은 산업공예로의 확대가능성을 모색하는 데에 연구의 목적을 두었다. 본 연구를 위한 이론적 기반으로 날염 디자인의 개요와 공예염색의 실용화, 그리고 추상표현요소로서의 선과 질감에 관하여 고찰하였고, 본 연구의 표현소재, 표현재료 및 기법, 그리고 형성과 제작과정에 관하여 연구하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 작품을 제작하고 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째 표현에 있어서 선은 가장 순수한 조형요소로서 근원적인 것, 원시적인 것에 대한 향수, 즉 인간의 내면세계를 암시하는 데에 적당한 표현언어였다. 둘째, 실크스크린프린트기법은 상업성을 위한 다량생산의 측면에서뿐 아니라 개인의 독창적인 표현작업에 있어서도 자유롭고 반복제작이 가능한 훌륭한 기법이었다. 셋째, 수세후 색상의 명도와 채도가 떨어지는 문제로 인하여 염료와 호료의 혼합비율을 조절하는 일이 작품의 전체적인 분위기를 결정하는 중요한 요인이 되었다. 넷째, 작품이 실생활에서 사용되는 것을 전제로 하였기 때문에 재료의 선택에서부터 염색후과정까지 매우 정확한 지식이 필요하며, 또한 제작기술의 숙련과 디자인 및 색상선택의 중요성 등을 인식하게 되었다. 다섯째, 제작계획 이전에 시장조사에 의한 소비자의 선호도 및 시장성, 경제성 등을 보다 면밀하게 파악하지 못한 점이 아쉬웠다. 여섯째, 본 작품의 실험연구를 통하여 최소한의 시설만 갖추면 충분히 주문생산이 가능한 半量産的인 양질의 수공예제품의 생산이 가능하다는 확신을 갖게되었다. 결론적으로 본 연구를 토대로 계속적인 실험연구를 통한 보다 합리적인 디자인의 개발은 공예염색의 산업화에 더욱 기여하리라고 믿는다.;Modern art refuse the reproduction of the objects as they are and develope in the direction of pursuiting the plastic world of originality in which the images existed in a artist's inner world are represented. And the mode of expression also enlarge its proper domain infinitely by virtue of developping various material and technics. In this thesis, we have studied the abstract expression created by the repetition of lines and unique texture derived from block printing and sculpting rubber plate and we have intended to find the possibility transitting the original dyeing works of individual into the industrial arts, as they become manufactured by silk screen printing. And the second chapter, which we regard as the conception and the characteristic of lines and texture among the plastic elements. And then we reflect on the formation of abstract arts, the lines present in it, and the way of utilizing dyeing arts in real life. In the third chapter, we tried to explain the materials and the formal ion of artist's works, the characteristic of silk screen printing and its working method. Furthermore, we presented and analysed photographs of seven works and two fabric performed by means of that process. The fourth chapter is the conclusions that we have reached through the manufacture and the analysis based on our research purpose and theorical basis. The following affirmations are its contents: First, the lines, the most pure plastic element in expression, are the language eminently expression to imply the human inner world comprise the original and the primitivity. Second, not only in the aspect of mass production for utilization in real life, but also in the expression of original art, the silk screen printing is an exellent technic that can make the working more free and easier. Third, in the process of printing, the ratio of mixing dye with faste and the difference of the color after steaming became the important factor that decide the nuiance of all. Fourth, since we have presupposed that the work should be utilized in real life, the washing and cleansing fastness became a very important issue. Therefore we could not neglect any process from the beginning to the end, especially the pre and post working process. Finally we have realized that there should be more serious efforts through the continuous experiencer and analysis to improve the dyeing art by silk screen printing as an art that iis capable of expressing the images we want. Also realized that we should emphasize on utilizing the dyeing art in order to make exellent dyeing works more accessible to greater public in quotidian life.
