포장의 조형성을 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

The change in the age and society has recently caused a dramatic change in the shape and ekpression type of costumes, and the importance of costume is now recognized as a mirror of the age reflecting the thinkings and feelings of the contemporilies. The costume enters, from a simple function of cloth, into formativity emphasizing the beauty-oriented function and the free creativity based on the man's desire for beauty. This study is to overcome such conventional concepts on the costume as the simple means for decorativeness, tydiness and protection of body, and approach to such a concept of packaging and wrapping body to express the uniqueness of modern costume by harmonizing costume with the formativity of packaging and wrapping. As a theoretical background for manufacturing the work and understanding the formativity, this study attempts to find the typical type of packaging and wrapping to be expressed on the costume in the wrapping cloth which is the typical wrapping means in Korea. The concept of wrapping cloth is investigated throuhg the review on the wrapping cloth, and the esthetic features and formativity of binding and winding derived from the wapping cloth are analyzed as a design element. And the beauty of wrapping cloth is applied to the costume to attract interest from the appreciator. The entire work comprises of four pieces of real works and four piece of illustrations, and applies the formativity of wrapping cloth to the costume in various angles to creat new image and express the versatility and free style of wrapping cloth. The following aims are pursued throuhg the manufacture of the works: At first, the modern costume with its functions as a cloth to put on and wrap with can be manufactured by introducing the concept of packaging and wrapping the body with the recognition of human body as a object of packaging and wrapping. At second, effort is done to understand the formativity of wrapping and packaging and take the wrapping cloth as a motive. At thirds, binding and winding are adopted as a way of expressing the unique formativity of wrapping cloth on the costume. The silhouette expressed on the costume vividly makes use of the esthetic function of modern costume which pursues the strong personality of modern man.;오늘날 시대와 사회의 변천에 따라 많은 변화를 거쳐온 의복은 다양한 형태와 함께 여러 표현방식을 띠게 되었으며, 그 시대를 사는 사람들의 사고와 느낌을 표현해주는 시대의 거울로써 그 중요성이 인식되고 있다. 의복에 있어서도 단순한 착장의 기능에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 미적충동을 바탕으로 미적기능을 살리고 창조의 자율성을 갖는 조형성의 지향을 추구하게 되었다. 본 논문은 의복의 기본 착용동기인 장식성, 정숙성, 신체보호등 여러가지 목적에 의한 의복의 착장적 개념에서 벗어나 인체를 '둘러싼다'는 포장적 개념으로 접근하여 의복에 포장의 조형성을 조화시켜 개성적인 현대의상으로 표현하고자 한다. 작품제작을 위한 이론적 배경으로 포장의 개념과 조형성을 이해하고 의복에 표현될 수 있는 포장의 형태를 우리나라의 대표적인 포장인 보(褓)에서 찾으려고 하였다. 먼저 보에 대한 일반적 고찰을 통해 보의 개념을 파악하고 보에서 유출해낸 묶기와 감기의 미척 조형적 형태를 디자인 요소로서 분석하였다. 그리하여 보를 통해, 보의 조형성의 아름다움을 의복에 응용하여 보는 이로 하여금 흥미로움을 유도하였다. 실물작품은 총 8점으로 실물제작 4점과 일러스트레이션 4점으로 하여 보의 조형성을 다양한 각도로 의복에 응용하여 새로운 이미지를 표현하였고 보의 융통성과 자유로움을 최대한 표현하였다. 작품제작을 통해 추구한 의도는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인체를 포장의 대상으로 인식하여 복식에 '인체를 포장한다'라는 개념으로 도입함으로서 입는 옷의 기능을 갖춤과 동시에 인체를 포장하는 옷의 기능도 갖춘 현대의상을 제작할 수 있었다. 둘째, 포장의 조형성에 대해 이해하고 이에 우리나라의 포장인 보를 모티브로 하였다. 세째, 보에서 나타나는 독특한 조형성을 의복에 표현하기 위하여 그 표현방법을 묶기와 감기로 하였다. 이때 의복에 표현되는 실루엣은 강한 개성미를 추구하는 현대의상의 미적기능을 잘 살려주고 있다.
