옥외 놀이시설에 관한 연구

Abstract

Now-a-days the importance of children's outdoor play in the cities is becoming acute. The play facilities and play surroundings naturally render great affect to the growth and development of children. This paper investigated the play surroundings and play facilities of the present moment in order to promote researching of designs and varieties of the play facilities systematically. This paper also studied the types of plays and their development through reference materials. This paper confined its scope investigation to four of play-places which accomodate moderate play facilities and five of kindergartens. Following is the list of content items of investigation. 1) Types of play facilities 2) The space of outdoor play ground and the location of play facilities 3) The administrative phase of the play facilities 4) The utilization status of the children's play facilities 5) The features of play facilities 6) The scope of play facilities 7) The color of play facilities 8) The material of play facilities The summarized results of investigation on the above items are as follows 1. Play facilities and play items Due to lacking of varieties of play facilities, children are easily got tired of the play items. Accordingly it is recommended that the simplified play facilities should be enhanced to functional play facilities which can attract interest of children as well as to meet the need of children. It is suggested that more studies have to be made in making play items of various colors, shapes, and materials. 2. Play surroundings The area of the play landsite is relatively limited. It is recommended that the play facilities should be rearranged according to respective are groups. There are too many damaged play facilities due to the poor management and broken ground base. A well managed checking system is needed regularly. And also the ground base material should be provided according to the various experiences of children in order to make more suitable play surroundings. 3. Shape of play facilities (1) Types of play facilities : Types of play facilities should be more variously explored as to promote the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of the children. (2) Sizes of play facilities : The sizes of play facilities are not adjusted to the different age level of children. The sizes of play facilities should be variegated as to be adjusted to the different age groups so that more children are participated safely without any inconvenience. (3) Colors of play facilities : Color plays important role in affecting children's emotional and physical needs. More intensive studies in color of would bring effective pay needs in children and make them to grow healthily. (4) Materials of play facilities : Present iron material of play facilities tends to give cold and hard feeling ; easily get warm in sunlight ; easily decay and break. Those should be changed to wood materials which convey heat less and give soft feeling. Further studies in design and maintenance of play facilities are desirable. The use of plastic material is also considered. The above items are the problems investigated for the sound development of children's growth. More studies and interest should be concentrated for the happy growth of free children. A positive consideration of grown-ups is requisite in this area.;본 연구는 도시화되어가는 현대사회에 있어서 어린이 옥외 놀이의 중요성과 가치를 재인식하고, 그들이 접하게 되는 놀이환경과 놀이시설의 문제점을 현황조사를 통하여 파악함으로써 어린이의 성장 발달에 커다란 영향을 미치는 놀이시설의 다양화와 체계적인 디자인 연구에 도움이 되고자 하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 옥외 놀이와 놀이시설, 놀이환경, 놀이의 발달과 형태를 문헌을 통하여 고찰하였다. 또한 놀이터와 놀이시설의 문제점을 파악하기 위하여 어느 정도 놀이시설이 갖추어진 놀이터 4곳과 놀이터와의 비교를 위하여 유치원 5곳을 임의 선정하여 관찰 조사의 대상으로 삼았다. 관찰의 대상 및 조사 내용은 다음과 같다. ① 조사대상지역별 놀이시설의 유형 ② 옥외 놀이공간 놀이시설의 배치 ③ 놀이시설의 관리 ④ 어린이의 놀이시설 이용현황 ⑤ 놀이시설의 형태 ⑥ 놀이 시설의 크기 ⑦ 놀이 시설의 색채 ⑧ 놀이시설의 재료 위의 조사 내용을 분석 연구한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1 . 놀이기구 및 시설 놀이터의 시설물 종류가 다양하지 못하며, 어린이로 부터 외면당하는 것이 많았다. 따라서 획일적이고 단순한 기존의 단독 놀이시설에서 탈피하여, 어린이의 욕구를 충족시켜 주기에 합당한 흥미롭고 모험적이며 여러 기능이 복합화된 놀이시설이 필요하다 하겠다. 아울러 다양한 색채, 형태, 재료 등 다방면의 연구와 개발이 수반되어야 할 것이다. 2 . 놀이 환경 놀이터의 면적은 대체로 좁았으며 배치가 산만한 경우를 볼 수 있었으므로 놀이시설의 연령별 체계에 따른 적절한 배치로 시급히 보완되어야 하겠다. 그리고 관리 소홀로 인하여 파손되어진 놀이시설이 그대로 방치되는 일과 바닥재료의 불량 상태가 발견되므로 수시 점검과 철저한 관리로 문제점을 시급히 고쳐야 할 것이다. 또한 어린이의 다양한 경험과 안전성을 위하여 놀이터의 바닥 재료를 적합하고 다양하게 마련해주어, 보다 훌륭한 놀이환경을 조성해 주어야 하겠다. 3 . 놀이시설의 조형성 ① 놀이시설의 형태 : 놀이터의 시설물 형태가 일률적이므로 어린이의 신체적, 지적, 정서적, 사회적 발달을 위하여 보다 다양한 형태 개발이 필요하다 하겠다. ② 놀이시설의 크기 : 놀이시설의 크기는 어린이의 연령에 따른 체계가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 따라서 각기 다른 연령의 어린이를 대상으로 각각의 체위에 알맞는 놀이시설을 개발하여 여러 어린이가 골고루 불편하지 않고 안전하게 이용할 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다. ③ 놀이시설의 색채 : 색채는 대체로 원색조로 획일화되어 있으며 배색, 명도, 채도 등의 조절이 고려되어 있지 않았다. 그러므로 색채에 대한 전반적인 연구와 아울러 어린이의 심리적, 생리적 요구에 맞는 색채 연구가 뒷받침되어야 할 것이다. 그래서 어린이의 운동욕구를 자극하여 보다 활동적이고 튼튼한 어린이로 인도해야 하겠다. ④ 놀이시설의 재료 : 재료 역시 철재로 획일화되어 있어, 느낌이 차갑고 딱딱하며 햇빛에 노출시 쉽게 뜨거워지고 부식, 파손 등의 많은 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 따라서 열의 전도율이 적고 촉감이 부드러운 목재의 도입이 요구되며, 이러한 재료의 적극적인 활용을 위하여 디자인과 유지에 대한 연구가 계속되어야 할 것이다. 또한 플라스틱 종류의 활용도 수반되어져야 하겠다. 이상의 문제들은 어린이를 활발하고 튼튼하게 성장 발달시키는 데 중요한 요인들이므로 보다 많은 연구, 노력, 관심이 집중되어야 할 것이다. 그래서 자유스럽고 행복한 한 인격체로 커갈 수 있도록 어른들의 세심하고 적극적인 배려가 이루어져야 한다.
