自閉兒의 行動的 特性에 관한 一硏究

Abstract

본 연구는 Freeman과 그의 동료들이 개발한 행동 관찰검사표(Behavior Observation Scale : BOS)를 사용하여, 자폐 아동을 판별하는 방법을 시도하였다. 즉 자폐아의 특성이라고 보고 된 행동들 중에서, 대상 자폐아들은 어떤 행동들이 빈도가 많으며, 정상아의 그것과는 어떤 차이가 있는지 알아보고자 한다. 생활 연령 만3 ~ 6세의 자폐아 16명과 정상아 16명으로 모두 32명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료의 통계적 분석을 위해서, t-검증과 계단식 판별 분석법이 사용되었다. 그 결과 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 행동 관찰 검사표(BOS)를 사용하였을 때, 18개 항목은 자폐아가 정상아보다 높은 행동 빈도를 보였다. 즉, 손을 본다; 노려 본다, 점핑(Jumping)을 반복한다; 꾸민 표정을 짓는다; 손가락을 꼼지락 거린다; 사물을 시각적으로 세부 조사한다; 사물의 표면을 문지른다; 정형화되고 상습적으로 사물을 다룬다; 한 가지에 집착한다; 자극하기 위해서 사물을 사용한다;사물을 떨어뜨린다; 어른을 손으로 끈다; 부적절한 신체 접촉을 한다; 실험자를 무시한다; 지시된 자극에 지체된 반응을 보인다; 공놀이를 제패로 하지 못한다; 부적절한 반응을 한다; 등의 행동 항목들이었다. 2. 행동 관찰 검사표를 사용했을 때, 7개 항목은 정상아가 자폐아에 비해 유의하게 높은 행동 빈도를 보였다. 즉, 사물을 의도적으로 다룬다; 시선을 맞춘다; 사회적인 미소를 짓는다; 수다스러운 말을 한다; 적당한 반응을 한다; 요구에 따라 눈마주치기를 한다; 공놀이를 한다; 등의 행동들이었다. 3.행동 관찰 검사표의 항목들 중에서, 자폐 집단과 정상 집단을 판별하는데 필수적인 행동들이 있음을 알게 되었다. 1) 고립적인 행동군에서는, 말을 반복한다.; 손을 본다; 꾸민 표정을 짓는다; 2) 사물과의 관계성을 다룬 행동군에서는, 의도적으로 다룬다.; 사물을 무시한다.; 3)실험자와의 관계성을 다룬 행동군에서는, 실험자를 무시 한다; 어른 신체의 특정한 곳에 주의를 기울인다; 어른을 손으로 끈다 그리고, 4) 자극에 대한 반응 행동군에서는, 공놀이를 제대로 하지 못한다; 적당한 반응을 한다; 공놀이를 한다; 등의 행동들이 두 집단간의 판별을 위한 행동으로 나타났다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 사용된 행동 관찰 검사표는 자폐아를 판별하기 위한 하나의 기초 자료로서 제공될 수 있다는 점을 확인했고 나아가서 이러한 행동들을 보이는 아동을 위한 구체적인 교육 방법을 모색하는데 필수적인 자료가 되리라고 본다.;This study was to test the screening method of autistic children with the Behavior Observation Scale (BOS) created and tested by Freeman and others. The study aimed to seek out which behaviors occurs more frequently in autistic children and how different they are from the behaviors of normal subjects. Subjects were 3-6 year old. 16 autistic and 16 normal children were used. For statistic analysis of the data, t-test and Stepwise discriminant analysis were used. The results were as follows : 1. Autistic children showed higher frequency than normal children did in 18 behaviors such as; Looks at hands; Staring; Repetitive jumping; Grimaces/gesticulations; Finger-wiggling; Visual detail scruting; Rubs Surfaces; Mouths objects; Stereo-typical/ritualistic use of objects; Remains preoccupied; Uses object to generate stimulation; Lets object fall; Leads adult by hand; Inappropriate contact; Ignores examiner; Delay in orienting response; Deviant ball play; Inappropriate response; in the Behavior Observation Scale. 2. Normal children showed markedly higer frequency than autistic children did in 7 behaviors such as; Purposeful-toy used functionally; Eye contact; Social smile; Communicative Speech; Appropriate response; Eye contact on demand; Ball play; in the Behavior Observation Scale. 3. Several essential behavior items were found which discriminated the autistic group from the normal group. They are, 1) In Solitary Behaviors, Repeats sound; Looks at hands; Grimaces/gesticulations, 2) In Relation to object, Purposeful-toys used functionally; Ignores object; 3) In Relation to examiner. Ignores examiner; Attends to one part of adult; Leads adult by hand; and 4) In Response to stimuli, deviant ball play; appropriate response; ball play. The Behavior Observation Scale of the current study, therefore, would be provided as a basis for the screening of the autistic children. Furthermore, the scale is found to be a useful guideline for developing educational method for the autistic children who exhibit these types of behaviors.
