土器 造形性을 응용한 現代陶磁의 표현

Abstract

土器는 일상 용기중 가장 일찍 인간의 생활과 밀접한 관련이 있었던 유물 중의 하나로 선사시대의 인간생활상을 오늘날까지 전해주고 있으며 石器와 土器는 그 본질의 불연성 때문에 언제나 한 文化를 대표하는 표준유물로서 취급되어 왔다. 이와같이 인간의 生活에 직면해서 소산되어진 것이기 때문에 각 시대의 성격과 발달수준에 따라 기능면 용도면에서 다양한 종류와 형태의 문화를 보여 왔다. 現代에 들어서 서양 문화의 도입과 함께 現代陶磁의 면모를 보이고 있지만, 그에 따른 전통 도자에 대한 연구와 관심도 커져 옛 것을 다시 활성화시키려는 시도가 자주 일고 있다. 本 硏究에서는 "土器의 造形性을 응용한 現代陶磁의 表現"이라는 主題를 설정하고 우리나라 土器의 기존형태를 토대로 하여, 현대 대중문화와도 융합되면서 전통의 美를 갖출 수 있는 토기요소의 現代陶磁의 造形的 表現을 시도하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 土器의 一般的 考察을 통한 器形특징이나 表現裝飾을 살펴보고, 現代 陶藝 作品에 토기 요소가 어떠한 방법으로 응용되어 표현되었는가 하는 점을 실례로 들어 관찰함으로써 작품 제작의 이론적 배경으로 삼았다. 硏究方法은 선행연구문헌과 실물작품을 통해 土器의 개념을 살펴보고 현대도예는 각종 미술지나 전시회를 통해 나타난 자료로써 이론적 근거를 제시하였다. 作品製作에 있어서는 土器의 특징을 現代作品 속에 좀 더 조화롭게 그리고 강하게 부각시켜 토기요소를 나타내려고 시도하였다. 作品製作方法에 있어서는 물레成形이 주된 제작방법이며 작품의 크기와 형태등 표현방법에 따라 타협성형 및 점토판을 이음한 판조립 성형도 부분적으로 시도하였으며 模形製作方法도 이용하였고, 적절한 방법론을 선택하여 흙을 통해 表現할 수 있는 다양한 경험을 체득하였다. 또한, 土器에서 발추된 조형요소들을 現代作品에 응용하여 시도함에 있어서 현대 대중문화와도 조화를 이룰 수 있는 우리민족의 전통 美의식을 다시 한번 인식할 수 있었고 이러한 융화과정에서 보여지는 여러 문제점들을 직접 체험함으로써 앞으로 연구자가 새롭고 폭 넓은 도예예술의 가능성을 모색하는데 도움이 되었다고 본다.;Earthenware is one of the relics that has the earliest relations with man's life. Among the relics that tells us of the everyday life of prehistoric times, stone implements and earthenware have been thought of as a standard relic because of the incombustibility of its substance. Earthenware has shown us a culture of various types and forms in its function and use, through the cultural characteristic and level of cultural development in each age because it is a product of man's everyday life. In modern times, with the introduction of western culture, feature of modern ceramic ware have appeared. However interest in traditional earthenware has become greater and there are frequent attempts to reinvigorate ancient forms. The theme of this study is "Expression of modern pottery compared to earthenware formation" and I will attempt a formative expression of modern ceramic ware with earthenware elements that harmonizes with modern popular culture but also is possessed with earthenware elements, based on the basic forms of Korean earthenware. For this purpose, the malformed characteristic and expressional ornaments are observed through general examination of earthenware and an actual example of how earthenware elements have been applied and expressed in modern ceramic works will be shown and this will be analyzed and will serve as the theoretical background in the manufacturing of the works. The method of study consists of examining the concept of earthenware through preceding studies, published books and academic journals and actual works. And the theoretical basis of modern ceramic ware is presented through various art journals, displays and public contests. In the manufacturing of the work, I have attempted to express the earthenmare elements in modern ceramic wares by showing the strong and harmonized characteristics of earthenware in modern works. As for the manufacturing method, wheel casting was the main method, and coiling and casting on the clay plate with hardboard was also partly used according to the size, shape and the expressional method of the work. I have tried to acquire various experience of expressing through earth by selecting suitable methods for each work and have also tried to embody my inner consciousness and to expand my horizons.
