선과 면에 의한 자연 이미지 표현

Abstract

미술활동에 있어서 심오한 변화가 있는 자연현상의 아름다움은 예로부터 많은 예술가들에 의하여 여러가지 방법과 양식으로 표현되어 왔으며 현재에도 새로운 표현을 위하여 연구가 지속되고 있다. 이와같은 창작활동은 현대에 와서 더욱 다양화되어 미술가 자신들의 주장과 조형관에 따라서 한층 개성화되면서 독창적 표현이 추구되고 있는 것이 오늘의 추세이다. 일반미술과 맥락을 같이하는 염색공예에 있어서도 예외는 아니기에 본 연구자는 염색작품 제작을 위하여 자연현상 중에 아름다운 하늘의 이미지를 선과 면을 이용하여 율동적인 표현 가능성을 모색하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이론적 배경에서 자연과 예술, 자연의 표현 및 표현 요소중의 선과 면, 형성원리의 율동에 대하여 문헌을 통하여 연구하였다. 이와같이 연구한 이론을 바탕으로 면섬유와 직접염료를 이용하여 하늘의 미적 이미지를 주관적으로 백발염제에 의한 탈색법을 이용하여 율동적 표현으로 8점의 작품을 제작, 분석한 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 첫째, 조형예술은 대상의 구상적 표현에서 시대가 흐름에 따라서 작가의 주장이 강한 내적 심상의 표현으로 변하면서 매우 다양한 현상을 이루고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 조형예술에 있어서 자연현상은 표현대상으로서 적절한 대상이면서 어떻게 표현하느냐에 따라서 그의 표현 가능성의 폭이 넓음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 표현기법으로 백발염제를 이용한 탈색기법은 하늘의 이미지를 표현하는데 적절하고 연구의 가치가 있는 방법이라고 생각되었다. 하늘의 심오한 변화와 아름다움을 탈색법에 의하여 표현한 것은 다른 염색기법의 효과와는 달리 점이적 색채표현과 더불어 강한 율동감을 나타낼 수 있었으며 색채의 우연한 효과를 얻을수 있었으나 백발염제의 사용이 처음의 의도와는 다르게 표현되는 점이 어려웠고 또 미흡한 점으로 나타나기도 했다. 앞으로 계속적인 연구와 제작활동으로 보다 새롭고 폭넓은 기법과 창의성 개발에 노력할 것을 다짐해 본다.;As for artistic activities, the beautiy found in the natural phenomena with mysterious changeability has been expressed in lots of ways and patterns from the ancient time and even now a variety of study is going on for the fresh way of its expression. Such a creative activity is now going on various ways so that the present trend is that the expression is further personalized in accordance with artists' belief and views on the formation with original expression being pursued. Since it is not exception for the dyeing art which is in the same context of ordinart arts, the study aims at looking for any possibility of gradual transformation expression, for the purpose of producing dyeing works, with which among other natural phenomena the beautiful image of sky may be expressed by lines and sides. To do so, theoretical backgrounds such as nature and art, the expression of nature, lines and sides among expression elements, and the gradual transformation of formation principle are obtained fro literatures. On the ground of said theories, 8 pieces of works where aesthetic images of sky are expressed subjectively with the aid of the expression of gradual transformation are produced with using sides and direct colours and the discolouration method by Rox. The results of its analysis are as follows: First, the plastic art is likely to be reoriented toward the expression of the strong mental images in the tangible expression and at the same time to show a very various phenomena, as time goes by. Second, in the plastic arts the natural situations are proper objects to be expressed and the possibilities to express them differ greatly according to ways to express them. Third, the discolouration method by Rox as a way of expression is suitable for the image of sky so that it seems to be worthy of further study. Though the mysterious changes and beauty of sky in the forms of dyeing works with the discolouratlon method reveal a weak point that their shades are a little darker, continuous study and systematic production actions seems to give rise to the the development of fresh and widly-accepted technologies and creative works.
